When you’re trying to get a good workout, your brother/ gym partner @texas_shop_bullies is always goofing off. 🤪🤣 . It’s always great to work out with someone that makes working out fun. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy a good solo work out, but I also enjoy it with friends and family that make the best out of it. . Always make sure you do more work than goofing off though. Don’t be that group of people that puts all the weight around them and just start talking. . That’s what parks are for. . As always, put in the work and pay your dues. Don chest yourself into putting excuses and setting yourself behind on your goals. . Don’t make excuses. Make results. . Everyone wants that “Beach body,” but they eating all the tamales or popusas at their family get together. . Discipline yourself and have that will power to resist am things that will set you back. . “Standing desks are light years better than sitting at a desk for hours on end (higher metabolic rate, less lumbar spine compression, etc)...but this doesn’t mean they don’t bring their own issues.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ When we stand for long periods we tend to lean predominantly on one leg. This creates compression in the hip that can damage connective tissue and lead to muscular imbalances in the hip flexors and low back. The real goal - whether you sit or stand to work - is to move as much as possible during your workday. In addition to reducing risk of a slew of sedentariness-related diseases, moving frequently during a workday keeps metabolic rate higher - which translates to longer periods of sustained focus. To discourage leaning and encourage movement while using a standing desk, I roll up a towel to stand on. This is just awkward enough to keep me moving and adjusting my posture rather than static leaning, but not awkward enough to distract my focus.” . Repost from @be.synchro

This is a great exercise to add to your workouts! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ You’ll be using your traps, rear delts, rotator cuffs, and smaller muscles in your mid back while completing sets of this exercise. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I also like this exercise for my terrible posture. (Back day is important for those of us who have that terrible slouch, hump on our necks). This can be fixed however with a good weightlifting program as well as some guidance from your doctor. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Also, remember! ☝🏼Face pulls are not a power exercise. So don’t load up. There’s no need to put so much weight on that you’re forced to used your lower back as well. A quick 3 movement workout to get back into the swing of things 🤸🏻‍♂️ • The first part of my tri set I did something newer, which I’ll probably incorporate at a heavier weight. Performed 5 reps of Rope Hammer curls and supersetted it with 5 reps of Tricep Pushdowns. Repeated this for 10 sets 👊🏼 • The 3rd movement was 20 reps of Lateral Raises. Repeated this for the same amount, 10 sets • Needless to say this workout was effective and quick. I just got over fighting some chest congestion, so wanted to ease back into it. 🤷🏽‍♀️ THE VERDICT IS IN 🤷🏽‍♀️ . . Did I finally get the body weight snatch (50kg)? NO 😭🤬😭🤬. However I did give @skahan28 & myself a good laugh 😂. How could the dinosaur pants let me down 😂? I got 12 hours of sleep after only getting 2 the night before, I was carb loaded, and I was feeling great.... until I rolled up to the gym 😒. I wasn’t even going to attempt it, even though I’ve been thinking about it all week, but I’m no longer dropping barbells on my head, now dropping barbells on my butt 🤣. I did decide to try it again (second video) & it just wouldn’t go 😭. However, I did do the best 47kg snatch to date 😏 (third video).
