Throwback to when I visited the flower market in Hong Kong last December! 🤗🌷 The Hong Kong flower market is quite the refreshing little gem amidst the busyness of Hong Kong. Located in Mongkok and accessible from Prince Edward train station, this colourful, open air market spanning several blocks features a plethora of shops selling gorgeous blooms, buds, seeds, as well as floral arrangement and gardening materials of all sorts.
In this picture is one such shop offering bouquets of various sizes to cater to every need.
Whenever I am in Hong Kong, for a stopover or a trip, I make it a point to visit the flower market. I use the opportunity to stock up on seeds for my personal gardening as well as any flower arrangement materials, like ribbons and tape. It also serves for great inspiration! 👍🏻One packet of seeds, for example, sweet basil or Marigold, can cost as little as $2.50 SGD! An affordable and great way to beautify your own home:) I started patronising this market way back in 2006. Over the years, I’ve noticed that it’s become significantly less busy, and the number of blocks the market spans have decreased. Nevertheless, it remains a not-to-be-missed resource for flower and gardening enthusiasts. It is also a beautiful site in Hong Kong that visitors should definitely visit in between your dim sum feasts!
Happy traveling! 🌼🌻🌸🌷🌹🌱💜
