Avocado 🥑 AVOCADO!! These little guys have truly made THIS past week possible, they have been on the menu every single day. And today I get to eat them TWICE ((: But aren't you doing a cleanse/detox thing? Aren't avocados fatty? Are you sure you aren't overdoing it? Yes. Yes. And yes.
See a common misconception when one wants to be healthy (or loose some w8) is fat should go... Not actually the case.
You see, the body actually NEEDS fats to function properly. Monousaturated fatty acids help the body ABSORB fat soluable vitamins A, D, E, and K. And then Omega 6 and Omega 3 are polyunsaturated fats which are known for promoting healthy brain health and function. When consumed in a healthy ratio, these fats can help support healthy cholesterol and blood pressure levels, and may reduce risks of various chronic conditions.
The fat one would want to avoid is trans fat (man made) which are linked to increased risk of 💓 disease. We should also be mindful of saturated fat which can be linked to poor health...✨ The key is to be MINDFUL about which fats are WHAT and make healthy food choices. ✨ .
So back to avocado, they ARE a source of healthy fats, with less the 1g of sugar and about 9g of fiber, with a ton of vitamins and minerals to boot. Definitely more of the #smartandsexy vs #silly choice I can make on the LAST day of my cleanse!
