I finally picked up a book I started reading months ago (like for real 3-5 months ago!) 😳 I set an alarm for 20 minutes so I could dedicate the time with no distractions, fully focused on personal development. After 20 minutes, I hit the repeat button and kept reading… then I set it for 10 more minutes after that. I 👏🏽 couldn’t 👏🏽 put 👏🏽 it 👏🏽 down! I got to the topic of “Snoozing your alarm clock…” Ummm, okay 🙄 Me 💯. I do it EVERY. MORNING! 🤦🏻♀️ @ put it into a HUGE eye opening statement (I started to cry… I’m tearing up thinking about the statement)
“Every time you hit the snooze button, you’re in a state of resistance to your day, to your life, and to waking up and creating the life you say you want. Think about the kind of negative energy that surrounds you when you begin your day with resistance, when you respond to the sound of the alarm clock with internal dialogue along the lines of, ‘Oh no, it’s that time already. I have to wake up. I don’t want to wake up.’ It’s as if you’re saying, ‘I don’t want to live my life, at least not to the fullest.’”
😮 😮 😮
Like, this is the energy I put out into the world 👏🏽 every 👏🏽 single 👏🏽 day?! No! Hell no! Not any more!
I WANT to live a life of purpose!
I DESERVE more than just to go through the motions!
I DESIRE more than just to live paycheck to paycheck!
I NEED more than just mixing your cocktails!
I am DESTINED to be more than a bartender, a server!
I have so much to give to this world and here I am snoozing my life away because I don’t want to get out of bed?! F that! Hal’s statement scared the shit outta me! Clearly, I can’t start today but tomorrow, when my alarm goes off, I will be up! I will not press the snooze button and I will start my day with gratitude and purpose! Please, ask me tomorrow if I followed through! Let me tell you how I feel and if the habit is worth having! ❤️
