Let your body linger in a state of oxytocin production just a little longer. .
It doesn’t matter when, where or why. If you ever want to slow your mind, cultivate a sense of calm, allow your heart rate to reduce or focus better, this is a really effective way to do it.
It might be the stresses of daily life - work, tantrums (hopefully the kids not your boss 🤔😂) or traffic jams. It might be when your time comes for labour - to allow you to relax and embrace the sensations, to support you as you make decisions about your care, or even afterwards. It can be hugely helpful when learning to breastfeed (it’s a challenge to many women because it’s a new skill to both you and your baby, a calmer mama projects calm into her baby), or when they are up for the millionth time in one night and you just don’t know why, or even when your 3year old keeps innocently asking ‘why?’ after one of those nights!
You’ll be able to think more logically, and react in a better way if you take a moment to slow yourself down and become aware of your breath. .
