Swimmer of the week: @ "This week, along with being named one of the captains of the team, Katherine had an outstanding week of training, and it showed in the pool on Saturday morning at the Fort Worth Paschal Invite.Katherine had two best times in her individual events; she was a 30.58 in her 50 freestyle and an impressive 2 second drop in her 100 freestyle at a 1:06.83. She also dipped sub 30 for the first time as she anchored the Medley relay in a 29.93. Primarily a distance swimmer, Katherine had some outstanding sprint workouts this week in hopes of helping her teammates achieve TISCA qualification times, and her leadership and overall positive attitude will lead the way.
Katherine is not only an outstanding leader in the water, but she is one that I can count on when it comes to keeping herself and her teammates level headed when it comes to academics. As part of my original team from two years ago, Katherine has grown to understand my coaching philosophy and is one individual that I can rely on to not only help me teach other members of the team how to be efficient student-athletes, but she continuously leads by example without me prompting her to do so. I am so proud of how far she has come, and can’t wait to see what she can do the rest of the season.
Katherine and her teammates have two more weeks of solid training before their next meet on Saturday, November 3rd at the Hebron Hawks Invitational at the LISD Aquatic Center; come out and support your Eagle swimmers who continue on the daily grind as they make a seemingly effortless transition to the 6A level. The Eaton Eagle swimmers are undefeated in the month of October, winning a dual, a double dual, and an invitational meet, and Katherine is one that has been a lead example throughout the process; let’s see what November has to bring to the table." @
