This is what I work for and love; the lifestyle change of reactive/aggressive dogs.
A little history on this mini australian, Bonnie: first time I met her, she went after my hand and the first group class I saw her in, she went after a reactive GSD three times her size. She was terrified of the world and made her go-to to fight. She’s been making huge strides! Well on Wednesday, I had Denali with me at class and they were there. During break, I heard Bonnie whine while others played and her owner said ‘if you weren’t so reactive, I may have been able to trust you’. I asked her to have a ‘muzzled’ play date after class and that I’d muzzle Denali for peace of mind, because she was afraid of a dog fight. (Side Note: Denali is situational reactive)
Denali and Bonnie totally fell in love! The look on the owners face though, is what made it worth it.
Stay tuned for hopefully some more Denali and Bonnie time!
