Stage Presentation for the 2019 Giro d'Italia.
STAGE 9: RICCIONE-SAN MARINO (34,7km ITT). Before the first rest day, one of the most important stages for the General Classification. A 34,7km individual time trial from Riccione, near Rimini, famous for the seaside tourism, to the town of San Marino, capital of the namesake, very small nation. The first 20km, are flat, for the time trial specialists, but the last 12km are in uphill, with an average gradient of 4,5% (lowered by some short flat or downhill parts, because the initial 5km are at 6,9% and the last 2,5km are at 6,4%) the maximum gradient is 11%. The finish line is at 648mts on the sea level. Important test for the GC riders, that must be ready to avoid to lose important second or, why not, minutes.
