This is my reality! This medication will control both my blood pressure, as well as my heart rhythm. One tablet a day with breakfast is all I need. Our greatest asset is our health and it’s something we should never take for granted! You can have all the riches in the world that one could possibly ask for! A beautiful home, a nice car, a boat, money, several vacations a year, etc etc etc! But take my word for it...if your health is suffering, you have absolutely nothing! Aside from being on this medication, I’m grateful that I’m a healthy man. I always maintain a positive outlook on many things in my life, and I’m happy to motivate and inspire others to do the same. As a matter of fact, one of my friends, an airline Captain at United Airlines, sent me a voice message earlier, telling me how much I’ve inspired him and how he appreciates many of my motivating posts! That really touched me! I have much to live for and so much to give! And one thing I want to give to all of you at this time, is my advice! And that is to do the following: 1. Eat healthy 2. Exercise regularly 3. Be grateful for all you have 4. Regret nothing 5. Don’t hold grudges 6. Never judge others 7. Love unconditionally, as I always do 8. Get some protein into a vegan diet with this tasty chickpea curry jacket. It's an easy midweek meal, or filling lunch that packs a lot of flavour. Ingredients: 4 sweet potatoes 1 tbsp coconut oil 1 ½ tsp cumin seeds 1 onion 2 garlic cloves, crushed Thumb-sized piece ginger , finely grated 1 green chilli, finely chopped 1 tsp garam masala 1 tsp ground coriander ½ tsp turmeric 2 tbsp tikka masala paste 2 x 400g can chopped tomatoes 2 x 400g can chickpeas, drained Parsley Spring onions Lemon wedges and coriander leaves, to serve Method: Heat oven to 200C/180C fan/gas 6. Prick the sweet potatoes all over with a fork, then put on a baking tray and roast in the oven for 45 mins or until tender when pierced with a knife. Meanwhile, melt the coconut oil in a large saucepan over medium heat. Add the cumin seeds and fry for 1 min until fragrant, then add the onion and fry for 7-10 mins until softened. Put the garlic, ginger and green chilli into the pan, and cook for 2-3 mins. Add the spices and tikka masala paste and cook for a further 2 mins until fragrant, then tip in the tomatoes. Bring to a simmer, then tip in the chickpeas and cook for a further 20 mins until thickened. Season. Put the roasted sweet potatoes on four plates and cut open lengthways. Spoon over the chickpea curry and squeeze over the lemon wedges. I’m already looking forward to the weekend, what about you? I have a longer day today, but planned something fun for my kiddos after school (only 4 sessions left and I have those planned too)! Didn’t it feel like this week went by pretty quickly!? Three weeks ago tomorrow I told myself I was going to set more fitness goals for myself, be more accountable about making healthy choices, and not feel guilty about the “balance” meals (aka cheat meals, but I don’t like that saying) I’ve been loving this notebook (how perfect is the the saying in the front?!) because writing these things down has been SUPER helpful to me. Being able to look back and re-examine previous days choices/goals/mood/health...I’ve never been one to keep up with any sort of writing, but I’ve done it for the last three weeks and couldn’t be happier about it I’m pretty proud too. This just may have to go longer than the intended three weeks! What are you happy about today? The weather, the weekend, your progress or goals being met? Let me hear it 😊💕👇🏽
