Shot in Mid-western China back in October.
This town is home to farmers and a large Monastery, with a heavy Tibetan influence, its home to many practicing Monks from all over.
This village & monastery lies deep in a valley surrounded by desolate mountains. It’s a dusty, pretty much baron landscape, cold in climate and the locals are built tough.
Real interesting place to spend time, especially with a camera, everything is rich in culture, tradition, religion and has a rich aesthetic.
My landscapes are colour but I am always torn now and then when an image just works in black and white. This is one of them images. Been so drawn to this, so nice to see on a big clear screen, going to be testing prints in the new year.
