A lower limb injury can sometimes prevent us from getting in conditioning work depending on the severity of the injury. Here's one conditioning option if your injury prevents you from doing 'traditional' cardio work like running or the bike. In the videos Cian is performing a Med Ball upper body circuit using Slams (video 1), chest passes (video 2) and rotational tosses x both sides (video 3). The 4 exercises can be completed in a circuit format...30s on each x 4-6 rounds with roughly 90s rest between rounds. WORK ON WHAT YOUR SPORT DOESN’T - 🤔I’ve been getting a few questions around sports specific training which I am more than happy to answer since that’s the area that al this roots from - 🧐Anyways, here’s a perfect example. Who’s ready for the first of many WT Human Performance WORKOUT CHALLENGES? First up, we have a quick upper body “Push and Pull” session that I opt for when I’m short of time, or to top off a workout. ⬇️ Start at the bottom of the pull-up pyramid, and the top of the “slow” push up pyramid. 📈💪 FORCE VELOCITY CURVE. The force velocity curve shows the relationship between both that we see during weightlifting. It is actually pretty simple. Think of it like this. If you lift a really heavy weight, can you lift it fast? Nope! On the flipside, if you lift a really light weight, you can lift it quickly! And in the same respect - the really heavy weight will be lowered quickly - whereas the light weight can be lowered slowly. As such, there is an INVERSE relationship between force and velocity. This has strong implications for your training programme. Each portion of the curve should ideally be trained at some point to improve athletic performance. The overarching aim of training along the curve is to 'shift' your force/velocity curve to the RIGHT. This would mean you can lift a weight with a greater velocity For example, at the start of your training cycle a 100kg Squat moves super slow. But by the end you can move this weight with good speed. You have shifted your force/velocity curve to the right. Die Schreibweise bleibt jedoch die gleiche. 3011 bedeutet hierbei: 3 Sekunden runter lassen 0 Sekunden Pause 1 Sekunde hoch ziehen 1 Sekunde über der Stange halten Vorteile des Tempotrainings sind eine bessere Übungskontrolle und das die „Time under tension“ bestimmt werden kann. Was „Time under tension“ genau ist und wie Ihr diese zum Erreichen eurer Ziele nutzen könnt, erfahrt Ihr beim nächsten Training Tuesday. These could look like this: „Backsquat 41X0“ 4 seconds eccentric Phase (going down) 1 sedonds isometric Phase (deep position) X seconds concentric Phase ( standing up) —> as fast as possible 0 seconds isometric Phase (on top) In some exercises like the pull up you are starting with the concentric part of the movement. My transformation Tuesday 💪🏻❤️ Jan 2018 ➡️ Oct 2018. I’m not saying one pic is better than the other, each body shape was for a specific purpose. On the left ⬅️ I was competing in a sport with a weight division and being lean and light was the best for my performance goals 🥇🥋The photo on the right ➡️ was taken over the weekend, I no longer have that restriction of a weight division and I have been working hard to gain muscle mass 💪🏻🏋️‍♀️ Funny thing is I have always lifted weights, it’s just now that my goal has changed I’m constantly pushing towards achieving it by lifting heavier and eating right for my goals. .
