The old me would have never posted this picture. She would have deleted it as soon as it was taken, because of all her flaws that society says she has. Health and fitness is no longer about losing weight to me. It’s about losing the habits that got me there. Like the overeating chocolate and peanut butter once dominic was born because hello they no longer made me sick or overeating all the foods to boost my supply because my supply dropped. To me it’s not about losing weight. It’s about being healthy again. Because loved ones see your beauty, not your flaws. You’re strengths, not your weaknesses. When Dominic looks at me, he doesn’t see my flabby stomach or big thighs. When he looks at me, he sees the woman who was strong enough to carry him for 10 months (and a day). Who gained an extra layer (or two) of fat on her stomach to keep him warm and to protect him. Who’s legs and arms are strong enough to carry him and protect him. Our children (two and four legged), parents, best friends, partners, etc. see the best in us, so why shouldn’t we? .
