My morning workout was inspired by @zackgeorge (although I did it the opposite way around 🤷‍♂️🙈): 10-1 HSPU Pull-ups Time: 6:41 🔶️ I'm not feeling 100% today and had a horrible sleep so instead of pushing overly hard I'm concentrating on bodyweight stuff and technique work (that counts as rest as far as I'm concerned 😂) 🔶️ I love workouts like this!

And I’m back .... _ 4 months ago I walked away from CrossFit. Not because I wanted to, because I had to. An injury caused by pride and impatience. _ In the moment, I was angry, at myself and my body. I wanted to quit all things fitness. Tacos and beer sounded like a great hobby to pick up. 🌮🍺 _ Thankfully, I have some of the best humans on this earth in my corner. They challenged me, supported me, and most importantly made me realize how blessed I am.  Looking back, this was an incredible growth opportunity for me. Stop doubting yourself and just do it. Most of the time we tell ourselves when it comes to something new or scary or hard that we can’t do it before we even try it. Why is that? Fear? Fear of failing? Well how can you even fail at something you’ve never even tried, YOU CANT!! So stop doubting yourself and believe you can do anything and try it before you convince your mind that you can’t! Last night I had some doubt about doing 53lb single armed KB swings because well a.) it’s Heavy! And b.) I’ve never done them and already have struggles with double arm kb swings with that weight so I was mentally telling myself that I couldn’t or would struggle big time with it. I was already making excuses until my coach just said TRY IT and you know what im so happy he said that because once I tried it, i DID IT and it wasn’t as bad or hard as I was hyping and telling myself it was Moral of my story....don’t tell yourself you can’t do something until you’ve atleast tried it! 16/80 Yay booty day! The first round of phase 1 I didn't really feel like I was working hard enough. It was a combination of not having the right resistance loops, and just not pushing myself. Well this time around I'm definitely working. By the last round my quads and glutes were giving out and I had to lessen my resistance. Muscle failure does NOT mean you are a failure. It actually means you are pushing your body as hard as you can, so if your muscles start to give out don't be discouraged. Since Kyle is out of town, I got my lazy ass up to run because, why not? 🤷 . . I'm trying to work more on speed. So a 2 mile tempo run was in order. Do I look as tired as I feel lol. No caffeine or anything with caffeine in it, even chocolate for the last 2 days. No BP meds or any other med before this 5 hour test , fasting no food or liquids since 10pm last night. Been pretty quiet about stuff , but I have been dealing with some moderately serious health issues with my heart and renal arteries. Even with how active I am and how well I eat and take care of myself, family history and being human predisposes us to issues. Fibromuscular dysplasia and moderate mitral regurgitation, along with a few other things that I'm not posting online, are my recent diagnoses. So appreciate your health because it truly is your greatest wealth and never take it for granted. You never know when your last day on this earth might be, so live everyday like it could be your last, love your friends and family fully, and do what makes you happy without worrying about others judgement or opinions. Strength isn't always measured in speed or distance, it can also be measured in knowing when to stop. Listening to your body is so important to prevent injury and burnout. Being focused on meeting a certain mileage this week combined with my work schedule has meant that I have to run several days in a row which my body is not used to, especially anything more then 2 miles. I planned for 4 today and decided I could settle for 3. But when I was only getting slower the farther I ran and started noticing hip pain, I knew it was time to stop. So began the walk of shame home. Then I started thinking, this is no walk of shame. This is knowing what my body is currently capable of and knowing when to give it rest. Listen to your body. I’ve been burning with @burnbootcampchapelhill for a week and a half now and freaking love it! One cool thing about this experience is it includes 1-1 sessions with our trainers to talk about anything we want. My focus meeting yesterday was about nutrition and the importance of fueling our bodies, especially following a workout. I’ve had two #afterburn beverages so far this week and totally dig it. Tried one with water and one with skim milk. Both tasty. Tomorrow I’m trying unsweetened almond milk to figure which fancies my taste most. Day 3 of #powertobepliable is #octopuswalk and I actually did it yesterday on an ibuprofen high. My hands kept hitting the curtains, and chairs, and the desk, so I put them behind my head. I guess I should have redone today and put them on my hips as Alli suggested. But while I woke with my temp lower, I still feel like crap. And honestly....don't feel like warming up and redoing. After I murdered my legs last night of course @1stphorm saves the day 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽 This post workout stack is probably the best thing I’ve used from 1stPhorm. Short tempo this morning! Was nervous for this one because I haven’t done a workout since my race a few weeks ago & haven’t been feeling super great on easy runs quite yet. I even had a dream about this run last night😂😳. —————————————————————— Plan: 3 miles @ 7:15. Told my coach @ameforitruncoaching some of my hesitancies about holding that pace based off the way I’ve been feeling. He listened and slightly adjusted the workout. New plan: 7:25 and work my way down. That sounded more manageable. —————————————————————— Splits ended up being 7:24, 7:18, 7:13 —> 7:18 average, only 3 seconds off our original goal. Considering it a win! The workout definitely felt hard, but I tried to believe in myself and remember that I basically ran those splits during the last 3 miles of my half a few weeks ago (how?😂). Hopefully that run was the kick in the butt I needed to remind myself how to suffer a little. #strongereveryday #ameforitruncoaching #dreambelieveachieve

Shoulder/Arms Day. 💪🏼💪🏼 #workoutwednesday in full effect! Just finished up a great LIIFT workout... sweat, sore, tired. Yep, it’s working! Only 3 days into this new program. I'm not always motivated to workout early, some days I procrastinate my workout but then I have to put my excuses aside and put my workout clothes on and get it done. I always feel so much better & glad I did! Motivation will come and go but that's where discipline has to come in. Be stronger than your excuses and get it done. Fight for you health and your goals!
