The truth is, this handsome hubby of mine wasn’t always on a health journey. My midwife almost missed it. My little feather and I, we had a beautiful thing going, like the rhythmic waves of a dynamic ocean... we were working together long before I truly realised. My husband was asleep, curled up by the side of our then 2 year old... exhausted and oblivious to my quickly growing surges, he succumbed to the comforts of the toddler bed. . Before I knew it, I’d woken him to fill the birth pool - this babe was in a hurry. I’d sent texts to my midwife, photographer and my mum, but at that moment I had suspicion that they wouldn’t make it in time. As I breathed to the depths of my soul, attempting to calm the intensity, the divine SHE whispered, “This is your dance. Feel the moves between you. You’ve got this”. She was right. . That night, for the second time in my life, I felt in my most extraordinary potent power. They tell us to be fearful. They tell us it’ll be too hard. They tell us we aren’t capable. They’re wrong. But their messages are insidious. They lie inside our cells, requiring only a whiff of fear to sabotage all our work of self-trust. Invisible warriors ready to put up a fight against our sacred knowing. A knowing that in much of the western world has been obliterated by systemic forces. . My midwife did make it. By mere minutes. But we would have nailed that dance regardless, my little feather and I. She is two years old today. Her and her sister make me a mother; a fierce, devoted, gentle, stretched, exhausted, perpetually mystified, yet grateful, mother. . When a child is born, so is a mother. Regardless of what her birth looks like, it is in this transition that worlds collide and things are changed forever. A woman is called forth, with an opportunity to meet her truest self. Terrifying and exhilarating all at once. They’ll tell you to ignore your wise SHE. They’ll tell you they know better. They’ll tell you about the confines in which it’s acceptable to reside, oh sacrificial mama. But please know, you don’t have to listen. . One year ago, I jumped head-first into my first '10 Day Transformation!' 💥 Let's just say it was just the kick in the butt that I needed! 👊🏽 Since then, I've reset my life from the inside out. It's more than just the outward manifestations you see. 🌀 Yes, I lost the bloat and the chronic exhaustion, lots of the anxiety & constant 'hangriness' but it's what I gained that is much more notable here. It ushered in a more consistent unconditionally loving relationship with my body. I was always healthy but more like mediocre healthy. Shunning any sort of extremism; using the excuse of 'everything in moderation' as a cop-out to actually becoming the best version of myself. Oh, how we sometimes like to play small and stick to our routines or versions of 'normal' or 'comfortable' which really meant for me 'complacency bubble.' Do it all half-way; always reverting back to bad old habits, especially when life gets tough. I've heard an expression that goes something like this- what you feed your body is exactly what you feel your body is worthy of! 🤔 I'm happy to say I'm off the emotional eating rollercoaster. I'm all-around lighter & more energized. I feel in control of my food choices. I'm the one in the driver's seat, At last! I've found a sustainable system that loves me. And I love it. 💕 Most importantly, I can keep up with these dudes all day everyday without relying on coffee (HUGE!) round the clock. Long post & possible trigger warning* A year ago yesterday - my heart fell out of my chest - I thought I lost my baby. Never in my life had I experienced what I felt that day. This photo was taken moments before at the Miss. Minnesota Pageant. I was 3.5 months pregnant and I had gone to use the restroom in the middle of the performance. When I was finished I looked down and saw blood. I’ll never forget the feeling that came over me during that very moment. I hurried back to my seat - I had to stand and wait for my mom as it was during a number - it felt like an eternity. Once we walked out the doors all I could say to my mom was, “there’s blood”. My mom called my Godmother (we were watching her daughter compete) & then my husband. I remember shaking so badly I could barely type the words to my best friend. When we got to the hospital my blood pressure was so high they stopped with all my vitals and took me back to a room right away. I was given a pelvic exam and gave many blood samples. They had told me that the hormone level was not as elevated as my previous appointment but that I was at the point in pregnancy where they may level out. My husband was out of town (which was extremely rare) and I’ve never wanted him by my side more. They ordered an emergency ultrasound and they were able to locate the baby’s heartbeat almost instantly. For some reason I still didn’t have any ease come over me - I wanted to know what was going on. After the on call OB took a look at the ultrasound results it came back that I had placenta previa. I had never heard of this condition before. I was put on bed rest for two days and I wasn’t able to lift over 20 lbs, partake in any extreme exercise, and/or participate in the hanky panky. I was also told that if things did not change during my pregnancy - I would need to deliver via c-section. I share this story because there needs to be an awareness for conditions like this. Would I have initially been “okay” had I know of this prior? No, probably not. But, I don’t think I would have felt so isolated and/or frustrated with the results. Oh! Things changed and I was able to deliver vaginally ❤️

My pretty face squatting 135lbs 😂 Not the strongest person in the world but getting stronger everyday 💪🏼. . For squats, I’m currently warming up with 95lbs, 115lbs, then 3 sets of 10 with 135 lbs. I don’t film in the gym because it’s awks but after watching my vid I’m dropping the reps @135lbs to 8 because once I get past that I have bad form. Will need to build up strength and work my way up to 10+ reps and eventually more weight. . A lot of the fitness accounts you see post pictures.. sometimes throw back pictures of being in a very lean state (for a photo shoot, competition, etc) their hard work and dedication is applauded! However, you cannot naturally sit that lean all year round! It would NOT be healthy! Especially for us women! Our Bodies/ hormones need us to stay above a certain body fat to have healthy cycles.... which is crucial! So many women on here that people aspire to look like haven’t had their cycles in years.... this is not healthy! Now I do know there are a large variety of things that can interfere with your cycle... but having way too low of body fat can defiantly be one of them! My goal is to live lean, healthy, strong, and be bikini ready all year with now extremes and no food restrictions! I don't enjoy speed and agility work. It's just not my jam, y'all. 😬 I would rather run and bike for hours - NOT do quick, power bursts and feel like I will die. But maybe that's just me? 🤷🏻‍♀️😂 . . My husband @thecliffpittman and I have a running joke on this. He's all about that speed! I hope our son has a little bit of both of us in his little legs. 😜 . BUT even tho I strongly dislike it... 😩 i still do the speed and agility cause it's good for me! I know my body needs it to perform better and avoid the risk of injury. Endurance athletes spend so much time working out in one plane. 🏃🏽‍♀️🚴🏻‍♀️ Agility work can take your results up a notch and keep you healthy by promoting balance, speed, form, and efficiency. It's painful when you push your body to those max limits (I was out of breathe and felt like I was gonna hurl 🤦🏻‍♀️😂), but it's a short lived pain. Kind of like a band-aid rip off. 🤗😆 .
