If it reaches one person this post is worth it!! 💪 There was a time in my life when I was very ashamed of how far I had let myself go. These two picture are some of the memories that I hold very precious to my heart. One is shortly after I had my sweet daughter. Would not change it for the world!!!!!!!! Very few people have ever seen pictures of me at this weight. I tried so hard to delete them all. I never wanted to let my health get this far out of control. Food is comfort for me and always will be, but now I am trying to find a healthier relationship with it! It will always be a life long struggle. I find strength in these pictures now. I was blessed with an amazing life and husband, but physically I was but not healthy and that is what the difference in these pictures. I have started practicing more self love this last week which I began to identify as quite separate and different from nutrition or training. The message below from Oprah Winfrey is one that hit my heart. It took me a long time to realize that achieving a certain physique doesn’t earn you self love. A healthy self image, confidence and love for oneself takes constant practice like anything else. ✨ “Your real work is to figure out where your power base is and to work on the alignment of your personality — the gifts you have to give — with the real reason why you are here. ✨ The number one thing you need to do is work on yourself. To fill yourself up and KEEP your cup full. ✨ I used to be afraid of that. People would say “She’s so full of herself.” And now I embrace it. I consider it a compliment that I’m FULL of myself. Because only when you’re full — I’m full, I’m overflowing, my cup runneth OVER! I have so much to offer and so much to give and I am not afraid of hindering myself. This was just all I was able to get in for practice today. Harley was up from 1:30 to 5 and then again at 6 slept till 8 woke up fell asleep on me till 9, and I’ve just been cleaning and reorganizing the kitchen and laundry and life. I feel like a zombie today and now I need to find motivation to cook for the fam 😫 A productive day, and at story time today Harley sat nicely and listened to all the stories. Normally I’m chasing her and redirecting her back, so huge win. A woman approached me this morning asking me if I was a powerlifter 😳. Nope I said. Bodybuilder, she asked? Nope. She told me my arms were really impressive, and she proceeded to watch me workout. She obviously has no idea how much weight powerlifters can move, or the dedication bodybuilders make to their nutrition. I’m just a working mom, standing here with a kettlebell, squatting it up and down hoping it will keep me from getting stuck on the toilet as I get older 😜. dont I look happy 😂😕 . had 2 workouts this week that were really meh. where I really wanted to, but my body just refused. . Sunday: scheduled a 10:30am session with my trainer (an old make up for a missed Tuesday). now that's not early by any means, and I slept well Saturday night. but I barely slept Friday night and had to be up early Saturday. so Sunday morning was not pleasant. after warm up I thought my body was waking up but we went to do cleans and I couldnt do 90#s. dropped to 85 and I still couldnt. it wasnt like I was tired and didnt want to, by body just would not. and I normally work up to 105. finished the workout still - squats, lunges, bench press, and the non explosive movements were fine. still sore from lunges. . the snap caption for this was: "when you have done a morning workout in so long you cant even clean at 80%" 🙃 . Thursday: so I've had this thing where sometimes my heart rate wont slow down?? 30 minutes of cardio, attempted stretching, then literally sat still in a corner for 30 minutes waiting for my heart to stop racing, was at 150 most of the time. it finally calmed down and I got in about 15 minutes of weights before calling it because I still felt jittery and unsafe. . still did as much lifting as I could both times. that's all I can ask for in these situations I guess.

Holy #transformationtuesday 😱 The left picture was around 2012-2013. I was at my heaviest. Like I’ve said in live videos/ posts, for my body structure & health 146 pounds was not working for me. . . . I tried everything - diets, weight loss products, work out programs at home, etc. A little would come off, but not stay off. . . . The picture on the right is this year (about a month or so ago). I’m at my healthiest I’ve ever been. . . . “Meagan, what’s your secret?” Y’all, it’s one thing and it’s not a secret. CHANGE. YOUR. MINDSET. There is an overwhelming freedom & power in being able to shut that voice off inside of you that tells you you’re not good enough, that you are incapable of progress and success, that you will never look or feel better. That voice is a liar. . . . I’m not a certified coach. I’m not a nutritionist. I’m just a hard-working mom who finally said “that’s enough” & stuck to it. . . . Has it been easy? No way. Not even one bit. Are there days I have to force myself to carve time out of my CRAZY CHAOTIC LIFE and push myself to the gym? Almost every time. . . . You are worth it. You are capable. So today saw another 'first' for me! My first run in another country! It was also my first run since the Royal Parks Half too, happy to be back out there! . So the strangest thing about my run this morning was that i was the only runner out in Milan at 9am this morning! One of my favourite things about going going out in london is running past other runners, reading their race tshirts and thinking, oooh that sounds fun! But instead today i just had people look at me like i was mad!! . Just some basics - close grip pulldown, hammer curls, high rows (gets your lard and rhomboids!), bench rows, and reverse grip curls! . . I’m focusing lately on lower weight and higher reps, and it’s really changed my workouts. My muscles start to really complain after 8 reps or so, and by the time I finish my lift and cardio I’m a puddle of sweat. LDL: LOW-DENSITY LIPOPROTEIN . Following up on yesterday’s post regarding total cholesterol, one of the main components of our blood cholesterol breakdown is LDL! . LDL is our BAD cholesterol. A great way to remember: think L for Lowsy ☹️! We want our LDL to be as LOW as possible! . When we have too much LDL in our bodies, they float around our blood vessels and eventually get stuck along the walls of our arteries. LDL is sticky and gross, so it sticks to our blood vessel walls and stays there until something comes to physically take it off (hint for tomorrow’s post). If this continues to happen over months and years, not only will our LDL numbers be super high, but we are at serious risk for heart disease, stroke, heart attack, etc 😓 . What affects our LDL? LDL is linked with SATURATED FATS. Saturated fats are usually solid at room temperature. Think about butter & margarine red meat cheese high fat dairy coconut oil fried foods, & fast food. . These foods contribute to high LDL and greatly impact our health when we consume them often! . How can we lower our LDL? Lower your saturated fat intake! Replace your bad fats with good ones like avocado, nuts, seeds, and olive oil instead of butter. Small switches and overall lowering our fat intake helps us keep a healthy heart! . 4 years ago I made a choice. A choice to put myself first, go outside of my comfort zone, and become the best version of myself. A version of myself that I didn’t know even existed. I was 38 years old, home with my third child, just trying to figure out a way to lose the pregnancy weight that never came off after 3 pregnancies. But I made a choice, that allowed me to get into the best shape of my life, and start something incredible for myself and so many others. This was me, 3.5 years ago, at an event with thousands of people, all by myself. The amazing photographer, captured this moment. This moment where I knew that I made the right choice! Because I knew that this is where I needed to be. I knew that in years to come I would know longer go to that event alone. And each year the group that comes with me grows and grows and grows. My tribe, my support system, my #fitfam, comes with me. And every single day this tribe welcome new people in. You see, I had a dream that was bigger than I even knew. Most people are afraid to dream big so they live their lives with small dreams, with self-imposed limitations, and with countless excuses to justify it. That used to be me. But something happened 4 years ago. All of my excuses that used to keep me safe, comfortable, certain, in control, all of a sudden I pushed them aside. I had no more excuses. I made a commitment to stop allowing my excuses to be the roadblocks to a life that I was meant to live. My challenge to you is to stop letting yourself off the hook, you are the only one who has to live with what you do with your life. So have the courage to do something incredible for yourself. Because it is never, EVER too late to go for it. If you are ready to make a big change, if you are ready to transform your life in ways that you don’t even think are imaginable, shoot me a message.
