Oh hewroooo 👋🏼 A little progress/life update: The new house is AMAZING and we love love love it. Mostly moved in, still have some things sitting in the old house since we have a week more of overlap, but just a few odds and ends. Unfortunately I injured my foot this week and it still hurts after coaching a few classes in a row (aka every day of my life). So training since Tuesday has been minimal. Hoping that it goes away and isn’t something more serious like a fracture 😟 This is a pic after taking “before” pics along with some of my fellow OTF staff so we can all keep each other accountable this spring! 💪🏼 Otherwise, still truckin, still working our asses off, still trying to be the best I can for myself, my family, and my clients 🧡

Actual proof of why you can't always trust your head or the scales. 4kg heavier now than I was almost 3 years ago but my body composition is totally different. 60kg used to look much heavier on me than it does now and it's really easy to see the number on the scales and feel like you've undone your hard work. Progress photos can help to give you a great dose of reality. Use them to beat that unrealistic image that your head tries to create 👊🏼

About six months ago, I decided to take a leap of faith. I left a job that no longer filled up my cup. I was exhausted, moody, unfulfilled, and a little lost. But, I was also curious. . . I’ll leave you with the recipe for these tahini coconut snack bites because damn, they’re good. Happy almost Friday. 🤗 . . INGREDIENTS: 2/3C tahini + 1/3C coconut flour + 1/3C almond milk + 1/3C shredded coconut + 1/4C protein powder (I used @1upnutrition chocolate vegan protein powder) + 4T melted coconut oil. . . RECIPE: Combine all ingredients into your food processor and whirl away. Scrape down the edges once or twice. If the dough doesn’t form a ball shape, add a bit of water. Life threw me a huge curveball (or 3) this week and I honestly couldn’t think of a better way to de-stress than lifting some heavy stuff in the middle of the night 🤗 This week has been a HUGE reminder to me to cherish every moment with the people I love, to live each day to its fullest & to experience everything I can with the time that I’m given. Life is far from perfect, but it could be a lot worse. So please, tell the people you love how much you love them, try something new, don’t be afraid to fail because one day you’ll be looking back on your life and there is nothing worse than regret.

Worked on adding onto a trick today, and turning it into a drop. This was my second time trying it and I can't wait to smooth it out and eventually start higher up the pole. I love this one! Also, it's pushing me to work on my reverse shoulder mount. Taking a mirror selfie in the gym locker room is one of the biggest thrills of my life cause YA JUST NEVER KNOW if someone might walk in and catch you mid pic #doingitanyway ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ When I decided to make health/fitness a priority in my life a little over 3 years ago, I knew very little about what to actually do to get the results I wanted. I knew I wanted to be “toned” and that was about it. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Spent the better part of a year doing bbg circuit workouts, eating smoothie bowls and walking on the treadmill. Aaaand there wasn’t much progress happening there. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Flash forward a couple years and the amount I have learned through trial and error and research blows me away. We’ve all got to start somewhere, and I know I still have SO MUCH TO LEARN 🙌🏼🤓 but there are some key things that have been monumental for me. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ My “fitness bible” if you will 🙂 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Weights before cardio always. Doing cardio first will deplete your energy levels. Toning isn’t a real thing. Building muscle and losing fat is. You can’t cheat the grind. Not all brands/types of food are created equally. Reading nutrition labels is important. Results are based on what you do consistently, not what you do occasionally. Two words: progressive overload. Eating in a caloric deficit for a long time can really fuck up your metabolism &make it harder to lose fat. What works for someone else might not work for you. Listening to your body is EVERYTHING. Carbs are a beautiful thing. Eating a bit more food and lifting heavy will do more for your body than eating less and only doing cardio ever could. Your workout doesn’t have to be super long to be effective. Once you start seeing results you want, eating healthier + working out becomes an addiction 😎

So I think not being allowed to lift is getting to my head. Back in NYC tonight (3 hours ahead of schedule 💃🏻... thank you standby!), feeling INSPIRED after being surrounded by like-minded colleagues for the past few days AND the amazing direction our food is moving. 🙌🏼💯😋 I learned SO much from my behind the scenes trip to @nestle, and I can’t wait to share it with you (swipe 👉🏼 for some highlights)! Their culinary-focused innovation, the rigorous standards and testing they ensure, and how they’re helping YOU #balanceyourplate 🍽 is just the tip of the iceberg! I can’t wait to share more! ( #sponsoredtravel) . ✨ On an unrelated note 🤷🏻‍♀️, since we’re moving tomorrow (yikes!), we ordered in dinner from our favorite local Greek taverna 🥗🍤, but I balanced my plate (see the theme?!) with extra fiber and carbs thanks to always easy to make POPCORN! 🍿😋 👩🏻‍🍳 Here’s how I make it 👉🏼 Add 3 tablespoons of kernels to a brown paper bag, fold down the top, microwave for 1:30-2 minutes (depending on the power of your microwave). Then top it however you’d like! I prefer some olive oil, salt, and raisins for sweetness! 😍 ✨ TELL ME 👉🏼 What would you top yours with?! What do you want to learn about my trip to @nestleusa?!?
