I FINALLY found another good keto treat recipe!! I’ve been having so many fails lately I was honestly getting so discouraged 😔 I try not to treat myself too often with sweets because it is more about overcoming the sugar addiction but I found when getting back on the keto wagon it helps to have these faux sweet treats that don’t spike your insulin. This was an awesome brownie recipe that doesn’t (TMI) send you running to the bathroom! The first keto brownies I made did just that! How much fat do you think 🤔 in 1 slice of this Cheesecake Factory cheesecake? ❗️Over 50% and over 29% of saturated fat. Are you shocked? I was when I saw that 1 slice contains 1760 calories - this is my daily intake. And some people enjoyed their slice right after having at least a 2,000 calorie dinner. ⚡️We happened to be at The Cheesecake Factory last Friday as I had a gift card from work. I was pleased that they had some options for us Vegan, like Impossible & veggie burgers & salads. However, their portions are just HUGE. My simple vegan salad was 1100 calories. Could you imagine how many calories other non-vegan meals were? It’s just sad to see people gorging themselves for such a #temporarypleasure I just wanted to scream: “Wake up people... wake up !!!!!!!!” Why wouldn’t you put that priority into fitness instead? Truth be told, even though I was uncomfortable, I wore the damn jeans anyway! ~ A few too many holiday indulgences has me looking a little fluffy and feeling a little sluggish, but I am determined to set myself back on the right path. I know, it’s the middle of the month and the holidays have long since passed, but the sugar addiction (which extends far beyond the holidays) is real! ~ I feel like I should stand up, say my name and that I’m addicted to sugar🤣 #refinedsugarholicsanonymous! ~ But in all seriousness, this last year and more recently these last few months, I have learned more about self-love and being happy with who I am from the inside out💕 ~ It’s not all about the six pack or tiny waste, but about striving to be my healthiest and best self! ~ ~ ~

Nope, this wasn’t lunch or dinner. It was breakfast! . It wasn’t always this way though. Growing up, I was always a “sugar for breakfast” fiend (muffins, pastries, cereal, low fat yogurt with granola, pancakes, you name it!). When I decided to lose weight and start counting calories in 2011, I ate soooo much oatmeal because it was “healthy” but still had some sweetness. And even when I went paleo — I started by eating n’oatmeal, a grain-free DIY version of oatmeal! So as you can see, transforming my breakfast into the savory plate you see above hasn’t been easy! . But when I choose protein and veggies for breakfast over sugary cereals, pastries, and even oatmeal, something amazing happens! My energy is way higher, I feel more focused and “in the zone,” and I’m full and content right up until lunch time. Those benefits alone have been worth the swap! But I’ve actually learned to love eating these foods for breakfast. I think they’re delicious! . So if swapping out your sugary breakfast has been a struggle for you, I want you to know there’s hope! Start small by making 1/4 or 1/2 your plate veggies and protein and once you’re used to it, increase the amount until you plate is completely sugar-free! This page is all about my recovery from binge-eating and binge-drinking but I will say this about exercise. There is always time. It’s up to us to make it a priority. On Tuesday’s I take my daughter to sparks from 6:30-7:30 pm. While she’s there I go for a run. I usually do a 5 km loop or I head to my favourite hill and do repeats. I could use that time to go grocery shopping or get my nails done or catch up on IG on my phone but I know that if I want to make fitness a priority then I have to take advantage of these opportunities. Sure it’s cold AF and dark AF but when I crank up my tunes and get into a good rhythm I’m always happy to be out for a run. So many of you want to know, “How do I stop emotional eating?” I’ll share with you something a therapist once told me, and it was the catalyst that sparked my journey. . She encouraged me to not change my habits at all for a few weeks, but to instead become an observer of myself. Every time I reached for that candy bar or sugary latte, take inventory of what’s going on. What circumstance was I just in or currently in when I felt the need for this? What thoughts are going through my mind and emotions am I feeling? What am I hoping this food will do for me by consuming it right now? . You see, you cannot work on improving yourself if you don’t first understand yourself. And as our marriage counselor has told me (I’ve seen a lot of therapists in my life, can you tell?) “The issue is hardly ever the issue.” . Normally, the “issue” as you see it on the surface is just a symptom or manifestation of something much, much deeper. You may think you know the issue of your emotional eating because you’re aware that you eat when you’re bored or upset - but do you TRULY understand the depth of the issue behind it all? Or are you reading the inner jacket flap of a book and equating that to understanding the whole novel? . I cannot give you a perfect prescription for overcoming emotional eating because as I said a few posts ago - this journey is one that requires deep, intensive soul work. It’s much more of an inner transformation than an outer. . And as a friend asked me this morning when discussing this, “Is it normal to be scared to dig deep and find out what’s underneath?” Yes, yes it is. Because the tip of an iceberg is deceiving about its actual size, isn’t it? But this isn’t a valley you can just skip over and expect to victoriously arrive on the other side. . It’s through the valley of unearthing and unrooting and self discovery that the growth happens. Down there is where you find your opportunity for a life transformation and change.

. || MY WHY || When I started this journey my WHY was to get healthy since I was recently clean and sober. In 2016 I stopped drinking in January as well as surrendered to follow Jesus. On my 50th birthday I took my last hit of marijuana. In September I was baptized. And in November I became a @WW with a lifetime mindset. So with all these changes to be a better more improved version of me, I thought weight loss was the next step. My why at first was too get healthy, That hasn't changed but has become more in depth. I want to be healthy to take care of my family. I am my mother's caregiver and the youngest of 🖐 kids. I have no children of my own so who will take care of me in my later years? So the healthier I am, the less dependent I will be on others. I forgot to add that my older siblings are between 9 and 15 years older than me. So taking care of them when they need me, makes me happy. Once you stop ingesting the foods that literally rewire & reprogram your brain to crave them & only them since they’re chalk full of toxic poisons, you will be able to hear the silent subtle language and vibration that your body reflects/speaks in. Your body knows what it needs, what it’s lacking & it’s constantly telling you what that is, through your symptoms. They interrupt our bio rhythms with those artificial foods bc then your body instead of craving the nutrients in the natural foods like it was supposed to, starts craving the drugs in those processed foods. Leading to more nutrient & mineral deficiencies & imbalances. Even meat is jam packed with hormones, hormone disrupters, & things that act like hormones, flavoring agents to hide the decay etc. I guarantee if you at the very least cut back on processed foods your body will not only thank you but start craving more & more of the natural foods it needs. You just have to go through that withdrawal process& the die off symptoms of the pathogenic overload, which is why it’s so hard for most of y’all to get on a diet, bc withdrawal has you slipping. Most of America is high and addicted to sugar. Guess what else is? Candida, molds & parasites. And idk if you’ve checked but sugar is in everything! Read the labels! Carbs also turn into sugar. You gotta be willing to go through the discomfort of adjusting your diet in the beginning to start seeing the benefits. The problem is most ppl stop early and quit before they even see the results that could truly transform their lives. I loved today's workout! Day 43/80 Leg Day. First you use weights to really work the body part, and then you burn it out using the sliders, and it was a heavy day so three sets of 10 reps and you repeat them back to back before moving on to the next exercise. No cardio and I was sweating like crazy 🔥 I felt invincible when I was done, and THAT is why I do this ❤

Let’s talk food intolerances... ⁣ ⁣ Most people confuse them with food allergies. The main difference is that an allergic reaction shows up pretty quickly once you consume the particular food. ⁣ ⁣ A food intolerance causes inflammation in the body but it can take days to show any signs. So we wouldn’t even realize that we have the ⁣intolerances. ⁣ ⁣ I’ve considered testing my body for food intolerances due to my thyroid and adrenal issues that I’ve been dealing with in the last few years. ⁣ ⁣ Finally did it and I must say that I am pretty ⁣surprised with the results. ⁣ Only five foods were on the list: ⁣ cherries, cucumbers, sweet potatoes, turkey, and egg yolks. ⁣ These foods are all “healthy” foods that are⁣ actually very high in nutrition and great for our ⁣body so I consume them all often🤦‍♀️ I’ve decided to eliminate them until further notice to see if it makes a difference in my energy levels and overall well-being. ⁣ ⁣ Do you have any foods that you feel your body may be intolerant or sensitive to? ⁣ ⁣ Some signs that you may have intolerances or that you have inflammation are: ⁣ fatigue, brain fog, chronic pain, gut issues, skin ⁣breakouts, and headaches. ⁣ ⁣ Swipe to see the test kit I used➡️⁣

Bag of Sugar 🍯 In Sweet Things, Ashley Miller creates abject still lifes with unsettling imagery that draw attention to the subtexts of desire, consumerism, and overabundance present in product and food photography. Miller’s particular brand of grotesque also alludes to culturally reinforced anxieties about the female body and sexuality that are often manipulated in advertising. I bite and I chew and I swallow what I am given. Modern society is built on overabundance and addiction. Since I was a kid my mom always made tuna patties. Well I'm here to tell you they are SO GOOD. And low in points. 2sp for these 5 small patties. I topped them with tartar sauce made with FF greek yogurt and lemon juice. I will definitely be having these again real soon. ⬇️ ⬇️ 1 5oz can tuna drained 1/8c Bread Crumbs 1sp 1Egg or 4tbls Egg Whites Finely Chopped⬇️ Bell Pepper and Onion Garlic Powder Cayenne Pepper . In a heated skillet sprayed with cooking spray of your choice, put the rolled tuna balls in. You can either patt them down in your hands or use a spatula to squish them down to patties. Cook low and slow. These even make good leftovers and are good cold.
