I also wanted to take the time to introduce myself again to our newer students and to anyone curious about coming along.
Hi 👋My name is James, I am originally from Sydney🐨 and am now living the the heart of Taranaki, Stratford.⛰
I discovered Yoga in 2002 as part of therapy after a car accident. Quickly realizing the benefits to the body, I was surprised to find significant emotional and mental benefits that come from connecting the breath with the body and mind. This lead to my love of sharing this practice with others resulting in becoming qualified as a teacher in 2015.
I currently teach two different styles of class.
🙏Hatha yoga from the Ghosh lineage. 26&2 is an active and dynamic class which is known for its stillness and therapeutic benefits, with a particular focus on spinal health and physical fitness. You will get the body moving and work every system of the body from the inside out.
☯️Yin yoga, which is passive and yielding, focused on bringing health to the connective tissues and joints of the body for a healthy range of motion. Yin enhances the flow of energy by creating self acupressure in the body, while we lengthen and deepen the breath, having a calming effect on the mind.
Both lineages are BEGINNER FRIENDLY, with the focus on the breath and alignment over aesthetics.
HealthySelf Yoga is about cultivating loving kindness in thought, word and action, to oneself, others and all loving things.
