....Or at least that’s what I feel like as of lately😷
Being down and out with sickness is SO not fun. You don’t feel like doing ANYTHING, unless it involves sleep. So my presence on here has surely been lacking, but I figured this would be a great time to talk about the topic of bouncing back from illness (since I’m determined to do all I can to do so)
HOW TO DEAL WITH BOUNCING BACK FROM ILLNESS:
1️⃣ Hydrate like you’ve never hydrated before. Water intake is so important when getting back into the gym from sickness. Especially with tummy troubles, your body is more than likely super dehydrated from all the lost fluids—get your ass hydrated before you hit the gym hard
2️⃣ Take it easy! Don’t rush back into the gym with a vengeance to try to make up for lost time! Take your time and listen to your body. It’s crucial to gradually get your body re-accustomed to the activity level of your typical gym sessions
3️⃣ This is personal preference, BUT—make sure you’re going into your workout with some sort of fuel. Your body had most likely already been facing a deficit in your diet due to illness, don’t go into your workout with a completely empty tank. Fuel your body with a light carbohydrate (like rice cakes) or protein shake.
Getting back into the groove can be tough after you’ve been sick, but having a plan of action and taking it one day at a time can make things much less stressful.
While I’m in not shape to get back into a gym routine just yet, these are some of the EXACT steps I take to fading myself back into my routine.
