The 22nd September is World Rhino Day. Here's a message from friend of Conjour @JasonSavagePhoto:
"What a Day #worldrhinoday is! Drawing attention to the 5 remaining rhino species in the world today.
They all have their different challenges, but they are all amazing animals. Rhinos have been around for 50 million years. They’ve conquered the world, growing to massive sizes and looking very different to today’s modern rhinos. Now they are only found in Africa, Asia and Indonesia. Poaching for their horns has left rhinos with an uncertain future as human greed continues to make the rhino population decrease. Today is about putting the spotlight on these amazing animals and to educate people about them. I’m loving going through the hashtags and seeing all the rhino photos. Everyone needs to come together and support the rhino organisations fighting to stop the illegal wildlife trade and that are protecting rhinos and their habitats.
I am so lucky to have spent so much time looking after these gorgeous white rhinos. They became my best mates. It’s hard to deal with having your best mates taken away from you but I hope some of my photos can help raise awareness for them. I miss them everyday.
This rhino in particular just loves the people that watch over her. She has an incredible personality! Hopefully all the rhino species can be around for another 50 million years." _______________
