James Gunn Boards 'Suicide Squad' Sequel As Writer With An Eye To Direct
An exclusive report from TheWrap has revealed that James Gunn, best know for his Guardians franchise with Marvel, has joined the 'Suicide Squad' sequel as a writer with an eye to direct.
Gunn will apparently have a completely new take on the DC property, which likely means that we will see a brand new Task Force X.
James Gunn was recently fired from Disney's 'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3' over decade-old tweets about rape and pedophilia themed jokes. Despite Marvel fans' calls for reinstatement, Disney has confirmed that Gunn will not return for the third film of the franchise.
A new report from Production Weekly has revealed that Zack and Deborah Snyder, Geoff Johns, and Charles Roven will be producing the 'Suicide Squad' sequel.
There is no official date for the 'Suicide Squad' sequel and since the writing process has just begun, it is likely that we won't see the film until 2021 at the earliest.
What are your thoughts on James Gunn writing and possibly directing the 'Suicide Squad' sequel?
