Hi Guys didn’t feel ready or strong enough to share but I need to as its part of loving pets. I also needed to tell Gemma myself when she got back, so she didn’t hear on internet. Our little baby Leonard who was 1 year and 2 weeks had to be laid to sleep on Saturday 12th May. The vets and us had done everything we could but treatment wasn’t working and he was in pain all night. I sat up through the night as the other pets wrapped around him as if they were protecting him including the dog. He was the sweetest boy ever, always with me every where and so loving with lots of cuddles. I made the decision with the vets support who gave us a private room and time together before he slipped away in my arms. I know he’s at peace but it’s so hard and it hurts so much. You reason with it when they are old, this is worse somehow than ever before. Kiss your babies every night before they sleep, enjoy every moment they share with you and enjoy the unconditional love they offer 💖 Goodbye my little Reiki boy, you taught me so much in so little time. So everything has sugar in some form, natural or otherwise. So how do we choose? The first ingredient is most important. 70% oats. I’d have plain oats at home but I’m on the road so this is a “best” choice. Skimmed milk powder has sugar, dried out lactose. But 2nd ingredient. Sugar last and only 12% of total product. So again a good choice. I would have loved 2 boiled eggs with this to top up protein but hasn’t been possible, so I’ll make sure I eat lunch by 12 to protect against muscle catabolism. Away from home for 4 days. Being prepared means no eating crap! Breakfasts, no fatty foods. Nuts and dried fruit bags for each day for snacks. Left over risotto for lunch traveling. Salmon and veggies for tea. Find a supermarket when I get there to buy healthy salads and lean protein. Saved a fortune and my health avoiding motorway food outlets. Well something new today! Up and out early to miss traffic to go to Cat Groomers!! Didn’t know it existed and we’ll need to see if how he’s managed it. They recommended The Staiths Cafe Gateshead and food is spot on for my style of eating. Post gym food. Porridge for carbs and fibre. It has some protein but not enough, so 3 eggs fried in a good non stick pan brushed with oil. Hypermobile people use much more protein for the repair to over working muscles. My wee boy not feeling so great. They couldn’t open the nasal passages any wider, so we are relying on anti inflammatory meds to reduce some swelling. We all take loads of photos now but they stay in our phone or computer. I love looking at photos. These are my only ones from when I was 10-12 years old. We were always active kids, playing out, climbing trees, swimming as we grew up near the coast. My grandparents took me on holiday camping every year with cousins. I was always slim I suppose because we were active and fed proper dinners. My weight came from carb snacks and becoming a Mum who worked and “didn’t have time “. We have to find time. However I started the gym at 21 after my Nan died after 6 years ill health with heart attacks and strokes. She was only 72, not old. Diet was definitely the issue, saturated fats, dumplings, pies and friedfoods. I looked at these today and remember why I train, why I believe in good nutrition and how much I miss Nan and Grandad. I don’t want my son to feel like this, so I’m doing my best to live long! We were at a very important fundraiser last night. An amazing rugby player Mr Doddie Weir many will know, has been diagnosed with a terrible illness but is striding out to make a difference for others. “We never know what cards life will give us” he said. So true. The food was perfect with a Scottish theme, there wasn’t anything I thought “oh I can’t eat that” . I made a decision to drive(people don’t heckle you to drink) and I ate everything including trifle for pudding. I’d rather eat nice food than drink. All these compromises add up to long term changes. This was my treat day little number yesterday after training. 1 slice of granary seeded bread which is the equivalent to half a baked potato in carbs. Eggs and lean bacon medallion for protein and theres enough fat in these foods. As you know everything in “Portion Caution “, so I had 1 tsp of ketchup as this has a lot of sugar.
