DAY 30/30 AUTOIMMUNE PROTOCOL BREAKFAST Smoked Salmon • Broccolini • Spinach • Avocado Birthday breakfast and still AIP. It’s day 30 of my 30 day challenge and upon reflection I’m happy to say I got everything I wanted and more out of it. My reason for doing it was to reduce as much inflammation in my body before my breast explant surgery coming up this Friday and it really did help. I lost just shy of 2kg which I believe was all inflammation because my body won’t release fat while these implants are in because it’s protecting my organs. But on top of that I definitely had improved quality of life. Don’t get me wrong my energy still burns out really quickly but I felt less like death and had more “better” days. I am going to enjoy my birthday today with a stevia pavlova and some other Keto treats. DAY 21/30 AUTOIMMUNE PROTOCOL (AIP) DINNER One Pan Garlic Prawns • Broccolini • Kale Tossed the king prawns in olive oil, garlic and salt. In a hot pan I seared the prawns on one side then once I turned them I added in the broccolini, squeezed in a whole lemon and seasoned with salt. Remove from pan once cooked and add in the kale with the left over juices and stir through. Season with salt and I had heaps of limes so I squeezed 1 in and left it to wilt. LUNCH Free rage organic pork belly with a pepper crust (from Macro at Woolworth) • Roasted Pumpkin Spinach Salad • Roasted Cauliflower My explant surgery is in 33 Days and I’m going to follow a strict Autoimmune disease diet from now till then to ensure that I have the least amount of inflammation in my body. There’s a bit more fruit and some starchier veggies permitted on this protocol than in my usual Keto menu but since I have to cut out eggs, seeds, nightshades, Nuts chili and cream - I’ve already cut out all other dairy but no ghee either and I quit caffeine a month ago so that’s a relief! I might open up my menu to those ingredients. DINNER MEXICAN BEEF SALAD 500g Grass Fed Mince 1 Small Onion, Thinly Sliced 2 Garlic Cloves, Finely Chopped 1 Red Chili, Finely Sliced 1 tsp. Cumin Powder 1 pinch Smoked Paprika 1 tsp. Himalayan Salt 250ml Organic Beef Stock 1/2 Lime 1. Heat 1 tablespoon of ghee in a large pan over a medium heat and add the onion, garlic, chili and cook until the onions soften. 2. Add paprika, salt and cumin, and cook for 1 to 2 minutes. Add the beef and stir until it has browned. 3. Pour in the stock, cover, and cook for 45 minutes, or until reduced and delicious. 4.
