There was not a lot of money and material after the war. #hermannfehling didn’t not only reuse the existing foundation, also the brick walls you see were made of recycled rubble (zoom in to see how round and crooked they are). The floating room used to be a terrace with a pergola but got transformed into a living room shortly after the house was finished. The whole project was a follow-up commission. The client was the director of the #titaniapalast that was converted by Fehling in 1953. #berlin#westberlin#architecture#fehlingundgogel#1955#506070berlin
There's a language in the world that everyone understands. It is the language of enthusiasm, of things accomplished with love and purpose, and as part of a search for something believed in and desired ~ The Alchemist
Picture shot at Marbella Guest House, Goa.
Wandering around the old part of Jerez, a maze of narrow cobbled streets but very few green spaces. Then we realised the green spaces were INSIDE the houses, courtyards are big news here. From then on we became massive snoopers, no open doorway was safe from our gaze 👀 and boy did we find some corkers 🌿🌿
Design darlings, Robin Standefer and Stephen Alesch, are behind Roman and Williams Guild New York, their first brick and mortar store at 53 Howard in Soho. The Guild is a feast for the senses: part café, part showroom, part library, part flower shop. Thoughtfully designed and impeccably decorated. #interiors
