Haven’t checked in in a hot minute!! 🤦🏻♀️ while also enduring the MOST PAINFUL period of my LIFE (alll da symptoms all da days...), I also discovered I have Leaky Gut Syndrome. For those of you who don’t know, Leaky Gut Syndrome is a condition wherein there are tiny tears in the mucus lining of your stomach wall (caused my acidity, diet, and in my case, a past of bulimia!) allowing undigested food particles and toxic waste into your blood stream, causing symptoms including bloating, gas, chronic fatigue, joint pain and even depression!! I’ve been experiencing all of these symptoms for almost a year, and after doing some tests, the results are back!! I’m excited to get back to feeling like my old self. Some changes I’m making for at least the next six weeks to heal my gut: 🦋limiting my coffee intake to ONE per day, sweetened with almond milk creamer (my new fave!!) 🦋eliminating ALL dairy, gluten and refined sugars. Avoiding products with aspartame, artificial sweeteners, corn syrup, or any highly processed (unnatural) foods. I’m also eliminating grains (quinoa included and legumes as they’re hard for me to digest right now 🦋increasing my superfood intake!!Bone broth, turmeric, cultured coconut yogurt, kombucha and probiotic supplements are my mains from now on! 🦋listening to my body!! I’ll be encouraging myself to get that #morningbootycall in daily, as this will boost my metabolism and help with overall health! However I am recovering and healing, and so yoga and other LISS workouts are likely to become a part of a sustainable routine.
