Tongariro National Park, New Zealand.
After 7 hours of hiking I felt worn out. I had gone through a snow storm, icy rain, thick fog, had crossed a plateau looking like a stony desert, climbed a mountain top on an accidental detour, passed the intensely coloured Emerald Lakes, watched in awe the aftermath of recent vulcanic activity. It was a visual overload and physically exhausting. On my way down the path lead through the woods looking like the epitome of an enchanted forest. Unfortunately a bus at the bottom of the mountain was waiting for the members of our group and I had to hurry to make it in time. I did reserve 5 minutes though to follow a little side track leading to a beautiful little waterfall. I quickly set up a long exposure shot and then ran for hundreds of metres with all the gear on my back to compensate for the time I had unregrettably spent at this mini oasis of calmness.
