When I started with landscape photography I never imagined myself on a 14 km one way canoe trip into the unknown. During school I had no interest in the nature and landscapes of our planet. I‘m glad I got the chance to find this interest soon after graduating from Highschool. The 21st century offers uncountable possibilities to travel the world and make a living out of it! Every time I wake up at a place like this i‘m just so thankful I get to experience all these adventures! ⛺️

Stroke after stroke, like slicing butter with a hot knife, inching our way towards a destination that we longed for. Yet, it felt like along the entire way, we were already there.

Don’t let the size of the climb scare you, getting started is the hardest part 👊.... #Repost @realitycheck_42 with @get_repost ・・・ The run up Cirque peak a couple days ago was fantastic, I broke in my new #salomonslab shoes which felt great the whole time, a perfect trail to break them in! Great hike with great friends!

Grand Sentinel is a 100 meter quartzite tower that looms above Paradise Valley near Lake Louise. For @caity_cain’s birthday, we climbed it. - At alpine II/5.8 trad this was well above our current skill set without the aid of a guide to lead. Thanks for the great day out @benjamin.paradis. Seems you’re quite often around when we do something new in the mountains!

Have you ever seen one of the countless unbelievably beautiful things on this earth and been completely taken aback? Where it feels like a wave crashing over you and makes you think, “is this real?”. That, my friends, is what this picture does to me.

I went out last night chasing thunderstorms, canola fields and sunsets. There isn't any canola in this particular shot but I found this giant yellow flowered weed instead so, two and a half out of three ain't bad I guess. I maybe should have saved this for weed Wednesday but that might mean a different kind of weed anyway. · · · · #yeg #edmontonviews #igyeg #parkscanada  #travelalberta #exploreedmonton #imagesofcanada #igtroya_ #ig_dynamic  #sharecangeo  #abparks #agameoftones #thankyoucanada #canadasworld #ig_serenity #ourlonelyplanet #ourplanetdaily  #supersunset_world  #instagood #yeggers #artofvisuals  #albertaviews #sunrise_and_sunsets #moodygrams #tv_allskies_vip #edmontonliving #explorecanada   #earth_shotz   #earthoutdoors #reflectiongram

I have been feelin hella blessed lately. Even with the amount of crap that has been piled on us lately, I can see the blessings all around us. And with the support + unconditional love of our family and Heavenly Father + the extremely strong will of the sexiest dude I know pushing me to keep going and stay strong, I can see all of the many tender mercies we’ve been given and all the miracles that have taken place. So yeah. I’m feelin hella blessed. And in honor of that, every week I’ve decided to do a #hellablessed post talking about what I’m grateful for + I encourage you to do the same! Also, I wanted to show this beautiful little bouquet of wildflowers that ren picked for me in waterton a few weeks ago. Every flower he sees, he has to pick it for me. Another thing I’m hella blessed for. 🖤 #hellablessed #tendermercies #honestmotherhood . . . . . #watertonnationalpark #wildflowers #mountains #gratitude #love #photography #motherhoodunplugged #messymotherhood #travelalberta #bloggermom #redrockcanyon #motherhood #magicofchildhood #lds

Constructed over a period of eight years, this school is one of the grandest in the city. . When Westmount School partially opened in 1915, it was alone by itself, separated roughly three blocks from the nearest homes by marsh and dense bush. The land was bought by the Edmonton Public School Board from the Norris Family in 1909 for roughly $3,000. Originally two wood frame schools were opened on the site but the growth of the Westmount and Inglewood communities far outpaced their capacity. In 1912 the decision was made to open a permanent facility and construction would start in May of the following year. . Design work was carried out by the Edmonton Public School Board's Chief Architect, George E. Turner and shares many characteristics with several of Turner's other works throughout the city. Built for a cost of $205,000, the building is designed in the Gothic Collegiate style popular with the EPSB at the time. Westmount features a large central tower and faux battlements along the parapet. Leaded glass is located over the main entranceway, and interestingly, two of the panes feature fleur-de-lis. The building is clad in brick from J.B. Little's Riverdale yard, whereas Indiana Bedford stone is used for detailing elements. Construction was carried out by O.J. Edinger contractors with work finally completing in late 1920. . Westmount has served a variety of roles over it's life. The school has functioned as an elementary, junior high, and high school, including all three at the same time during the depression and war years. During the Spanish Flu epidemic in 1918, the building was briefly concerted to a relief centre. . 'Allegedly' several ghosts haunt the school, including former teacher Miss Felicia Graham. Last seen alive near the High Level Bridge, she disappeared in November 1918. Her body was later found downstream, north of Vermilion the following May; some claim her death is related to serial killer James P. "Bluebird" Watson, whom lived nearby in the Arlington Apartments. . Like all pre-1945 public schools, Westmount is listed on the city's Inventory of Historic Resources, meaning it is eligible for legal protection.

. . . . . . . #travelstroke #traveljunkie #travellove #travelwithme #travelwriter #travellover #travelholic #travelasia #travelstagram #traveltips #travelandlife #travelnoire #travelguide #travelporn #travelinspiration #travelworld #travelgoals #travelalberta #traveleurope #travelogue #travelbag #travelphotographer #travellers #travelmore #travelphotos
