I had just been to the national mosque of east Africa. The Gaddafi mosque in Kampala, and I had my big camera with me. We were continuing to the Kiseka market and I was warned to not go just because of my camera. I went in and I came out with all my stuff and I didn't worrie once that something would get "lost". But still it doesn't mean that everything is safe 💜 Kampala I sure wish to see you again!

This is Anita - @anitakomukama The first time I met her, her energy levels were all over. Very helpful actually too helpful, too nice, volunteering and stuff. thats the easiest ticket to get me reserved. Well, We were going to Fort Patiko and she had a tonne of experience in Gulu but none hiking crazy distances yet. So she was also a bit nervous. But lo, she came to hike. Like a beast. And now I actually know that she is a nice person by nature and nurture, even a law abiding citizen. She maybe the only one I suspect pays the infamous OTT with a frown on her face, but a clean conscience. Also she’s a photographer don’t let her smile distract or fool you, she’s also got sharp eyes. #africa #photography #outdoors #traveluganda #seetheworld #artistfound #portraits #wanderlustofafrica #nature #iguganda #blackandwhite #everydayafrica #everydaylife #ondaba #portraits

Portrait of a Batwa woman Batwa Pygmy Village, Uganda The Batwa are one of the last groups of short-statured people also known as Pygmies and were the original indigenous dwellers of the equatorial forests in Central Africa. They were called “The Keepers of the Forest” because they lived in harmony with nature, in small huts made from sticks and grass, relying on the rainforest for their existence and only taking what was needed. Anthropologists estimate that pygmy tribes like the Batwa have lived here for at least 60,000 years. Despite their long historical existence and wide acceptance as the original inhabitants of these areas, they don’t have any legal title to the land. Therefore, when the National Parks were established for the protection of the forests, wildlife and primates such as the Mountain Gorillas in 1991, the authorities evicted the Batwa from their forest home without compensation. The Batwa became environmental refugees, squatters existing in extreme poverty on the parks’ boundaries, looking in where they used to live. Without land of their own or the skills to compete in today’s world, the Batwa have become marginalized, discriminated against, and their rights as indigenous peoples are neither recognized nor respected. . . . #uganda #traveluganda #batwapygmies #kitenge #wanderlust #travelphotography #lonelyplanet #lonelyplanetmags #lppathfinders #picoftheday #instaartoftheday #columbusohiophotographer #614artists #fujifilm #fujixt2 #fujilove #fujifeed #myfujilove #repostmyfujifilm

It might look like 3 lovely ladies smiling into the camera with a bag of coffee. Well. Its soooooo much more. Koyo who is on the right is the Uganda women's national team coach. She was invited to @worldrugby forum on WOMEN IN HIGH PERFORMANCE COACHING earlier this month in London. Koyo is also the RUGBY TACKLING LIFE rugby development manager and mentors, coaches and trains several female coaches and teams in Uganda. The forum brought together an incredible group of women like Katie Sadleir who is the World Rugby General Manager Women's Rugby & Isabel Perez Garrido from Spain. And they all got some #COOFFFEEE. You all know that COOFFEEE sales fund rugby development in Uganda. So, order yours to drink the finest Ugandan coffee & ensure the growth of the best game in the world. #rugbytacklinglife #traveluganda

This is the start of my photo series, I am just so excited for my trip! I have been given permission by family members and guardians to share with you these photos. - This young boy lives with his family about an hour outside of Kampala, Uganda. His family lives in a home equivalent to a small bathroom. Along with his three siblings, he sleeps on the floor. During the rainy season when the house floods all five family members must sleep together on the one bed. - #traveltheworld #neverstopexploring #seetheworld #travelphotography #travelafrica #africa #uganda #traveluganda #portrait

. . . #africa #welcometosodom #ghana #uganda #welcomerefugees #viaggioconsapevole #dirittiumani #migrazione #travelafrica #traveluganda #mangiaviviviaggia
