Enjoying a beer at sundown on Hippo Hill in Uganda🇺🇬 it was a great way to reflect upon my journey so far through East Africa. Visit my website [see my bio] for the latest blog on Uganda!
Our final evening in Uganda was a glorious one. We'd enjoyed plenty of safari that day, getting close to some truly wonderful species of mammals and birds. And now we sat on Hippo Hill at sundown, taking in the most beautiful sky which constantly changed with the dipping sun and swirling clouds. Down below us in the lake, there were an array of birds, mostly cormorants and pelicans. The shimmering gold waters reminded me of the opening sequence of one of my all time favourite films, Blood Diamond, set in Sierra Leone, but Africa nonetheless. As I sipped a beer and chatted to my newly found adventure friends, I remember saying, "This is why we travel.. for moments like these!"
