"One machine can do the work of fifty ordinary men; No machine can do the work of one extraordinary man." Throughout history, blacksmithing has been an art that only a certain number of people have been able to master. Blacksmithing has been important to our history because without blacksmithing, man would not be shaping metal and using metal like we are today. Yes, since the 19th century to modern day, blacksmiths do only custom work because of the need of mass producing of all products to fit the needs of the ever growing population. Blacksmithing may not be an art that society depends upon as much as they used to but blacksmithing is still an art that shouldn't be forgotten because behind each piece is a story as well as someone's blood, sweat, and tears. Blacksmithing may not be as important to the people of the modern day but it is very important to the history of this world which is why blacksmithing should always be a cherished art that should never be forgotten.
