Repost from S U P E R @
I think one of the most important things is “reflection” and we rarely make time to share it with others. Yesterday, we created an awesome space for a one on one with World Class Global Winner @ - who describes himself as “the same guy from the day before I carried a trophy”. I love setting up interviews and discussions to get to the heart of these experiences. Sharing Orlando’s experience with the group was awesome, stemmed some great questions and emotional moments. A few times - not just Orlando and I - but the whole room was moved to misty-eyes talking about the power of bartenders, teamwork, love and compassion for what you do, and our industry family - especially when we touched on the @ bitter drinking challenge, where Kenya’s Patrick Mutua and Orlando discusses why choosing the coffee we do has a greater impact on families and communities than you think. A consummate host and professional, Orlando is caring and creative - when I asked him “what kind of a winner will you be?” He said, “I’ll be one for the people, and build everything I can for a better drinks industry and community” (his favourite colour is blue, he loves gangster movies and late night pizza) amen brother, we’ll drink to that.
