All the feels for Today 💕
After a beautiful half day at work, I went home changed into my bathing suit and headed to the beach with a new book. Lately, I have been making time for all of my favorite things - yoga, reading, and occasionally chatting with strangers to list a few of them. Today I chatted with a couple from New York, who set up an umbrella, a couple chairs, and some rafts next to me and we made small talk about the weather, news, and local restaurants. The husband mentioned to me about something he and his wife have been doing for 40 years that they love. My head tilted to the side, unsure what he meant, I noticed him looking at my book. He said, “if you like reading you’ll enjoy this - any time you have an out of the normal, awesome, incredible day, document it. Take a picture and write exactly how it made you feel so you can relive it over and over again. It doesn’t have to just be on vacations or new destinations it could be just a day like today. You seem completely content!” and I sat there and smiled with so much gratitude and thanked him. I thanked him not only for the awesome idea but for bringing realization to how completely and blissfully happy I was!! I realized sitting there today that life is too short, time is too fast, there’s no rewind or replay button, and that we only live once but if we do it right once is enough. And if you collect pictures and paragraphs that maybe just maybe you can hit rewind or replay just one more time!
