Got a nasty pump after bench today. Haven’t done pull ups in a decade. Got 10 then 8 then 6 and 6 for a total of 30 reps. Not bad for being back up to 215 lbs body weight. On Jan 12th 2018 I tore my meniscus in my left knee. For those who don’t know meniscus help with jumping and squat like motions. This past weekend was 6 months since it happened and it has been tough physically and mentally. Coming home from PA the weights felt heavy. Despite that i am happy to say I squatted 345 for 5x5 today! My bench and deadlifts didnt take much of a hit but my squats got the full force. I am constantly trying to move forward and do what i can to prevent any further injury. We all may hit a road block every now and then but we gotta find our passion to keep moving forward. Stay happy lift heavy.

🍑Monday Leg Day🍑 Let's talk about how my legs had really bad stretch marks. Even dimples on my hamstrings. I couldn't stand wearing shorts let alone were spandex. Buy, you know what. I worked my ass off in the gym and helped myself feel more confident wearing them. Not only did I care about the stretch marks and dimples I didn't like how they would giggle every step I took. 🍑 Every time I do legs I think of all my fears I had before i started working out. It helps motivate me. Helps me stay positive and it helps my mind set. 🍑 Never be afraid to work out to help you feel more comfortable in your skin. Up until this meet It was truly a roller coaster ride... from school, to work, to mommy duties, getting sick, having all my gear stolen and sticking to training. It was a lot to juggle, but It got done and at the end of the day I’m satisfied. I got #meetprs in all my lifts #33lb Pr squat #16.5lb Pr bench and #22lb Pr deadlift for a total of #71.5lb Pr from last meet numbers in almost 4 months. I was the lightest I’ve been during my training @123 training @128. I’ve only been doing this sport for 9 months and can see and feel the improvements from when i started. I have a lot of technique work to improve on and speed as well as sticking points and mental game. 460 # for 5 pause reps. That's a 30 # PR for 5 on pause reps. 💪 Pause reps were how I kept the training stimulus going today without going heavy and agitating my neck. I leave for Ireland in 2 weeks, so this is my last deadlifting session until I get back in mid-August. These weights moved well per prescribed RPE, and are at least 20-60lb jumps from prior weeks. The mental side of things is important for lifting. Remember that lifting goals should have long term approaches, and programming should be adjusted for each lifter. @wicked_witch_of_the_east_bro is strong with a lot of potential, and things are trending up. Didn’t want to lift, just wanted to be sedentary and eat my stress about this upcoming comprehensive exam(read:the exam I have to pass to move on to a dissertation proposal). But, these weights aren’t gonna lift themselves, and I’m certainly not making weight by sitting on my butt. Getting Day 2 training done first thing tomorrow morning and hitting campus to get focused. Can’t eat everything in the pantry if I’m not home!! 🤦🏻‍♀️🤣😭

Hitting my openers this week, and decided to just get all of them done in a day, I kind of rushed through them, but everything moved well. Not super carbed up today and weighing in at about 175ish lbs and my ribs/hips are still out of place, hopefullyyyy getting a chiropractic/massage sessions in this week. Clips 1-3: 425 lbs x 1 (All in all, squats felt good. Hopefully being locked in this Saturday will lead to my first decent squat at a meet.) Clips 4-6 280 lbs x 1 (Honestly could probably open higher on bench and be ok, but playing it safe. Misgrooved the second one because my chest decided to fight back, but all in all felt good.) Clip 7-9 550 lbs x 1 (Felt out of position, but moved well.
