Story time...... minus the Speciale I believe here is the saga of a motorcycle addict and his fix. I had a k7 GSXR 750 for years and loved that bike. I had every intention of getting the GSXR1000 and building it to a WSBK spec machine.
To that point I had always admired Ducatis, a doctor in town had a 999R that I drooled over and admired. Flash to 2012 when the 1199 Panigale came out. I saw it at the IMS show and was in awe. Demo’d one at the dealer that spring and was selling my soul to have one shortly after. 15k miles on my 1199, the addition of a 1098 SF S, and a hyper SP and it was clear I was addicted. From everything life threw at me my bikes were my release, my getaway. Those bikes soon went and a 1299S was added along with a Monster 1200R. Damn those were amazing. My birthday the next year saw a Panigale R in my garage, followed by a Pikes Peak Multi. That was a dream combo, not to long after that as you all know the 1299R FE was the new hotness. I’ve had a few and every single one has given me experiences that i remember. I can honestly remember a special ride on every one of these bikes. Which goes too show you that all of the Ducatis are special, there hasn’t been one that I’ve owned that I can say I regret. Go get your dream bike and ride it, you can’t go wrong.
