Quick Story-time (and then Food-time 😛) - Have you ever been to/seen a BBC Prom?! 🎶 I remember arriving in the UK almost five years ago in time to watch the Last Night of the Proms on tv, and I was amazed by the enthusiasm surrounding classical music (I’m a musician, just FYI 💁🏻♀️)! The Proms are a summer series of daily (or more) concerts where orchestras/ensembles from all over the world come and perform in the Royal Albert Hall - my favourite performance venue in London (it’s so gorgeous) 😍 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I actually worked as a steward/usher for the Proms that following summer, so saw loads and loads of concerts (pretty much a dream job for a musician). But I actually hadn’t been back to a Prom since, so it was long overdue. My housemates invited me to go see a Late Night Prom last night, and though it made for a very late night out (for me at least!) there was fantastic music, such a cool vibe (jazz ftw 😎🎷) and it was just a fab way to end a fun day - you can check it out, along with lots of tasty food I had at @oldbarone right before, in my stories!
Speaking of food - if you’ve been following along you’ll know I’ve been having loads of it lately, and it’s been DELICIOUS 😛 But I’m definitely looking forward to a few days of simpler homemade meals, and it started off with a green smoothie for breakfast this morning - best way to detox right? HAPPY FRIDAY! 🎉
