NON-DAIRY CHEDDAR - it’s easier to make than you think! Here’s the recipe: 🌱
Non-Dairy Cheddar (vegan, gluten-free) .
1 cup orange bell pepper, diced
3/4 cup raw cashews (soaked, rinsed & drained)
4 Tbsp nutritional yeast flakes
2 Tbsp raw tahini
2 Tbsp lemon juice, fresh squeezed
1 Tbsp dijon mustard, gluten-free
1 1/2 tsp garlic powder
1 1/2 tsp onion powder
1 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
1 tsp pink himalayan salt
1 1/2 cups purified water
2 Tbsp agar powder .
In food processor, combine bell pepper, cashews, nutritional yeast, tahini, lemon juice, mustard, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and salt. Process for approximately 2 minutes until the bell pepper is completely masticated and mixture is smooth.
In a saucepan, combine water and agar powder and heat over medium heat for 3 minutes or until it thickens.
Pour agar mixture in to food processor for a minute or two. Scraping edges with spatula as needed.
Grease a 3 cup container. Pour mixture into greased container, cover and chill for at least 3 hours. When ready to use, invert container and cheese should come out easily.
Can be sliced, cut in cubes or shredded. Keep in covered container in the fridge for up to 10 days. #vegancheddar #vegancheese .
