Who’s intimidated by all the amazing food pictures on Instagram? Me! 🙋♀️ I like to cook, but I realize that I compare my dishes to those who are doing a much better job presenting them! I judge myself and in the process deem my food less worthy!
Well, isn’t that the biggest pile of 💩? But, I know better...because the fact that I’m even cooking is something to celebrate! You see, I used to hate cooking! ⠀⠀
I mean, my cooktop and I were not on speaking terms 🤷🏼♀️I thought she was a bia who never cooperated and she thought I had no idea what I was doing. In her defense, she was right🤣
Yet, somehow, this relationship has shifted and almost everyday we are learning and creating new things together! Some days I’m amazed at the things I am attempting and other days I keep it simple and stick to basics. ⠀⠀
I had to stop being scared of making crappy food, of comparing, and just start cooking...no expectations! Turns out, once I changed my mindset, I started making some pretty yummy stuff...and I wasn’t a failure, haha!
So, if you’re looking to make some nutritional changes, don’t start looking at diets, calories, macros blah blah blah...just make yourself one home cooked meal as opposed to eating out or microwaving! No expectations, it doesn’t even need to look pretty...just cook! 😍
This little bowl took me no time at all to make. No recipe, just some roasted broccoli, baked sweet potatoes, carrots, and avocado...and it was soooo good!
Does Instagram motivate or intimidate you when it comes to cooking?
