It’s been a rough few weeks. A rough year, but the past 5 weeks have been especially hard and I’ve poured so much into the situations and people which have required care and support, that I’ve not looked after myself too well.
Mum and I had a heart-to-heart yesterday and I reassured her that I’m okay - which I am - but I know that 2018 has taken it out of me and I need to do some basic self care. Good food, skincare, exercise, mindfulness, laughter.
Today while the mini humans watched My Little Pony, I made my favourite breakfast of scrambled eggs, spinach, mushrooms, pan fried cherry tomatoes, toast, mocha, and green smoothie. I classify myself as a dairy free vegetarian, but if I think about it eggs are the only non-vegan food in my life most of the time 💚 Not a planned thing, but I’m happy so it’s all good.
I’ve got my trusty Gratitude Journal that I sell on @applesandpips, and then the obligatory noisy child invading the peace with a wooden recorder... 🤦🏼♀️ Speaking of Apples & Pips, my dear friend Vicki over at @honestmum treated herself to the self care gift set I sell, and has written a beautiful blog post about how she’s looking after herself to recover from a busy and often challenging 2017, and recent illness. Pop over and check it out 💕 (Matching ‘Mother like no one’s judging’ mug and tee are from the fantastic @mutha.hood 🙌🏻) #mymotherhood #motherhoodcaptured #motherlikenoonesjudging #shopsmall #supportsmallbiz #selfcare #gratitudejournal #100daysofgratitude #selfcarematters #mentalhealthmatters #youcantpourfromanemptycup #motherandson #whoboughthimabloodyrecorder #myhappycapture #breakfastofchampions #dairyfree #dairyfreevegetarian #veggielife
