We did it!! From 9am this morning, Cutehead and I were in the kitchen cooking, baking and preparing a vegan Christmas feast for our family.
With a cheese, fruit and nut platter for starters, Alex's "chicken-bacon" for hors d'oeuvres, and a nut roast, spaghetti squash, roasted veggies/jackfruit (with a homemade gravy) and Dannie Salad for the main course. To finish it all off, Alex and I tag teamed to create a "Yule Log" double layer chocolate cake for dessert (accompanied of course, by Over the Moo Ice-Cream).
Suffice to say, by 5pm we are exhausted, very full - and haven't even opened presents yet.
It was really special to be able to provide cruelty-free fare for everyone and we want to thank our family for being such good sports about it. The animals thank them too.
