Here it is: the answer to the question I've been asked the most this past year. . "How did you know it was the right time to leave the security of your job in KS and move to CO when you did?" (or some variation of that) . I was sitting in a small cafe in DIA eating a sandwich as I waited for my flight to come and whisk me away back to Kansas. It was the end of an incredible weekend with Midwest friends, spent in a cabin nestled just outside of Breckenridge. The weekend's activities included skiing and pushing our rental 2WD minivan up & over the icy crests of the gravel, pirate road that led to our cabin. . Now typically, after a full weekend like this, there should be some part of you that is glad to be going back "home"; where you can relax with your familiar creature comforts. As I sat in DIA and ate my sandwich, I couldn't find that feeling anywhere. That part of me didn't exist. It hadn't for the past two years. . I looked at the pictures of the mountains on the cafe's walls, and it hurt knowing I was leaving them yet again. Honestly, it should have gotten easier by now, this was like my tenth trip to Colorado. But truthfully, I was on the verge of a complete, mental breakdown at the airport. I had been hungry, but now I felt sick to my stomach and couldn't finish the sandwich I had just bought. . So that's when I decided I couldn't put myself through this trauma anymore. It's not super glamorous, but that's my story. And you might think that using the word, "trauma", is a bit of an exaggeration. But I assure you, that is the perfect word for what leaving Colorado in that moment felt like to me. It was traumatic. I wanted nothing to do with where I was going and everything to do with where I was leaving. . One of my strengths has always been that I am very in tune with my feelings and emotions. I guess this story illustrates that. You see, it was now I realized that I couldn't mentally live the lie I was living in Kansas anymore. I knew exactly where I wanted to be and I had to go chase that dream. All this time, I'd been waiting for an opportunity to present itself to me. Well, in Denver’s airport I realized, I had to go out and present myself to this life

“Unless you try to do something beyond what you have already mastered, you will never grow.” Ralph Waldo Emerson. ⠀ Like creating my own photography shop on Shopify. 😳😜😳⠀ Anyway...😂⠀ Here are some delightful Bison roaming peacefully in the Grand Teton National Park. This image was made whilst wandering in the Ol Bohovan late September of this year. And speaking of Bohovan. I just created a new story about the insulation process. We saw our first snow fall on the road in Jackson, Wyoming on October 1, 2017....it was a rude awakening to the lack of insulation in the van but the perfect reason to seek out the boiling river hot springs in Yellowstone NP⠀

Colter Bay - Lakeshore Trail - When you reach the end of the "paved" section, and before you turn right to continue on the trail, make a quick detour to the left. . . Here you will find benches that face the Tetons. A nice place for a morning cup of coffee. Don't forget your bearspray. Better to have it and not need it than the other way around. . . And a great place to throw and skip rocks! . . . . #42mileloop #42miledrive #colterbay #grandteton42milescenicdriveloop . . #mountains #wyoming #discover_wyoming #gtnp #mypark #findmypark #grandtetonnationalpark #grandtetons #grandteton #grandtetonnp #mygtnp #mygrandteton #visitwyoming #travel #nationalpark #nationalparks #familytrip #familyroadtrip #tripplanning #vacationplanning #adventure #visit #visitgrandteton #vacation #explore #outdoors

🇷🇺⬇⬇⬇ The Mammoth terraces USA, Yellowstone NP #usa #landscape #explore #nationalpark #travelgram #discoveramerica #discover #greatoutdoors #lifeisoutdoors #travelexplorers #photoworldh #yellowstone #yellowstonenp #yellowstonenationalpark #oldfaithful #geysir #wyoming #visitwyoming #jacksonhole #grandtetons #grandtetonnationalpark #grandprismaticspring #mammothterraces #mammoth

Bands of color at Grand Prismatic Spring. Can see the steam rolling off the electric blue center of the Grand Prismatic Spring. You can tell how hot the natural spring water was on the cool summer morning. The center is surrounded by a labyrinth of rich yellow, green, orange and brown color variations formed by bacteria in the springs mineral rich water. Standing too close to the spring can cause intense burns.🌋⛺️⛈ #grandprismaticspring #waterfalls #yellowstonewaterfall #mommothhotsprings #yellowstonenationalpark #yellowstone #visitwyoming #reflection #yellowstoneriver 🐍#livehappy #mountainside #mountaingirls #adventurethatislife #adventurous #mountainview #discoverearth #exploremore #welivetoexplore #liveofadventure #InTheMoment #chooseoutside #l4like #l4 #followmefollowyou #cloudy #nature

The natural landscapes at Mammoth are some of the most dynamic in the park and many of the features here can change on a daily basis. It is very impressive to see how springs have changed the color of the rocks.🌋⛺️⛈ #waterfalls #yellowstonewaterfall #mommothhotsprings #yellowstonenationalpark #yellowstone #visitwyoming #reflection #yellowstoneriver 🐍#livehappy #mountainside #mountaingirls #adventurethatislife #adventurous #mountainview #discoverearth #exploremore #welivetoexplore #liveofadventure #InTheMoment #chooseoutside #l4like #l4 #followmefollowyou #cloudy #nature
