This post is about a headshot, but I don't think you have to be in the industry to relate to the endless pursuit of finding your worth and passion in your job and all the mental drain that has on you. ❤️ If you're an actor you've probably had one or two. In my case, I've had more than I can count. Yes, it's a shot of your face, but it's your tool - one of the many that help you get hired. But imagine this shot as a tiny thumbnail on a computer screen, lined up against 3,000 other tiny thumbnails. That's your competition. You want to stand out. You want your essence to shine through. You want them to love your look. You want them to love you. You want them to trust that you're talented. You want them to give you a chance to audition. And the truth of the matter is, that more often than not, it's all out of our control. Yes, just like any other job, we invest in our careers. You might climb a ladder or reach for more sales, but actors chase dreams and breaks. The next rung or break is so close, it sparkles in the distance. ✨🌟✨ But at what price do we chase the dream? Do we forget the little things that go well? The small victories of the day? Do we curse ourself for the failures instead of finding joy in the small things?
Let's be better than that! Let's know that there's beauty and joy in the struggle. Let's know that we are enough. Let's know that our talents and gifts are enough. Let's know that God's Grace is enough for us.
That's my challenge, to know that God is eough. 😊❤️
