"How long until I see results?" 🤔
I've been asked this question a lot by my clients lately, so here are my thoughts 👇 (Part 1 of 2)
The biggest factor in your own success is how much effort you put toward your goals. Training 4x a week will get you where you want to be faster than training only 2x a week. Are you going to clean up your diet as well, or are you only trying to out-exercise your bad diet? Are you willing to be sober (or significantly less drunk) at social functions, and eat out of tupperware even when the boss orders the whole office pizza?
This isn't to shame anyone, working out 2x a week (even with a bad diet) is still better than not exercising at all! Your goals need to be realistic for your lifestyle. If you've got young kids and routinely work overtime, or care for a sick relative, chances are you're not going to have the time to spend in the gym to look like a fitness model. If catching up with friends over a few glasses of wine is more important to you than working out, then that is your choice! Only you can decide your own priorities. But understand that if you don't make fitness a priority, you aren't going to get very fit anytime soon.
Likewise, how hard you push yourself during your workouts will dictate your results. Do you end your set as soon as your muscle feel the tiniest bit of fatigue, or do you routinely push yourself close to the point of failure? The more willing you are to be sweaty and sore, the faster you will see results. (End of Part 1 - Stay tuned for Part 2 tomorrow!)
