I have been overweight all my life in some grade... .and I knew I had to change... But In 2017 I went on a trip to Greece and something changed... After hours driving to reach one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen (called Balos Beach), when we reached the parking I discovered there was still more Than one hour walking down to the beach through a very very tilted slope and a very difficult path... In that moment I pannicked... thought I couldn't do IT! I really thought I would rather stay on the parking For few hours waiting for my friends... Just becuase I was embarrassed of climbing up back all that way back... Finally I did it! Took me longer, I was really out of breath and the place was just amazing... It was my first #nsv... And I really realised of all the things I was missing and how my life was limited by my weight... When I came back I joined the gym and started to do light changes in my diet...And after summer I started counting calories and committed with gym... Fasting challenge day 1 - Omad. . This is the dinner I had after a day of fasting. Tuscan chicken with cauliflower mash, spinachs, half an avocado, some walnuts, some olives with flax oil and coconut oil. . It went pretty well! My reasons for joining back to a conventional gym is I now want to concentrate on building my muscle mass & that’s what I’ll be doing. I usually feel a bit bloated and 🤢 that time of the month. Occasionally I need to take a tablet and sometimes I feel the need for some chocolate or a Big Mac in the evening. Nothing too major. This is heaven compared to what things were like pre baby. I was a monster 25% of the time! Such terrible cramps that I often cried and vomited (even with prescribed painkillers). These last few days however have been a vision from the past. I feel SO grumpy, irritable, constantly have that nagging pain in my tummy, I feel gross and uncomfortable. And I feel like eating everything and anything. And I do. I have. My consumption today didn’t even fit on my food diary.... I had 2 breakfast, 2 lunches, leftovers from all of baby’s meals (just couldn’t help myself there), cant count the snacks..... I feel so heavy and sick tonight that I opted for some cereal and no snack with tea. Talked to my psychiatrist today about changing my meds, and changing the dosage. He said he wanted to wait 6 week as my heartbreak is pretty recent. The depression isn't recent, but he thinks that may be due to my work schedule. He did write me a DRs note accommodation for work, without me asking. Last year, I gave myself the best Christmas present... I reached out and asked to join a group of awesome ladies on a quest to become the healthiest version of myself. WOW~ what a year!BEST GIFT EVER!!🎁 At the time I questioned if I should spend the $ because you know... Holidays are hard and I'd rather spend the money on my kids. I felt slightly guilty about it but my self-esteem was at rock bottom and I really knew I needed to do something. It made sense to tell my hubby this is what I wanted for Christmas. Seriously?? Now I only wish I had not waited so long! So much happiness. So much knowledge about myself. There have been a lot ☝🏻 firsts for us this year. We’re heading into Grace’s first holiday season! This will also be my first Thanksgiving since going #plantbased 💚 🌱 . I went vegan 9 months ago. It was something I had (not openly) thought about doing for years. My turning point happened one sleepless night after I had eliminated dairy from my diet in order to nurse my baby who was having digestive issues), and stumbled upon an eye-opening documentary. For me, it uncovered the power of plant-based diets preventing & reversing disease, corruption behind processes animal food companies and big business/pharma. That night, it was it for me. 👋🏻 . I’ve been to many potluck dinners, restaurants, vacations and other large groups gatherings over the last 9 months. So this week, leaving for my in-law’s for the week isn’t my first “rodeo.” But it still feels strange, getting ready to celebrate a holiday that, from a commercial standpoint, revolves around serving a “bird,” and all the butter/dairy loaded fixings that accompany it. ❌🦃😔 [Totally not passing judgement on my non-veg friends... hello, I was just there 9 months ago!] I’m just genuinely expressing myself here, in case anyone out there can relate? Maybe you’ve given up wine and you’re going into the holiday unsure of what to expect? . I guess where I’m going with this post is this: . 💚No matter what your diet or nutrition: Be Kind. Be Accepting. Be Joyful💚 ‘Tis the season! . We live in an age where there are so many different food aversions: gluten intolerance, lactose intolerance, paleo, keto, Kosher, vegetarian. Food is powerful! Your choice is YOUR’S to chose. If you’re invited somewhere and you’re worried about the menu meeting your diet, then politely let the host know about your restrictions ahead of time, and offer to bring your own food (and, bring enough to share). And if you’re hosting, be understanding of your guests’ choices. Yes, you may have spent hours in the kitchen preparing a lasagna tray or casserole, and I bet ppl will find it delicious! I’m gonna be 100% honest, I’m really over doing 40-60 minute workouts 🤦🏼‍♀️ I used to think I HAD to workout for an hour or MORE to get results, to be fit, to be a “gym girl”.... so you can only imagine my skepticism when I started these home workouts that were only 30 mins 🙈. I mean I was a personal trainer, I didn’t DO workouts like that (talk about feeling too good for something. Transparency). But I started doing them and GOT results. One of the programs I got the best ever transformation was from 30mins a day, 5x a week🙌🏻 Its a humbling feeling to be like dang, something else works 🤷🏼‍♀️ but I’m grateful I figured it out cause I just don’t WANNA workout for an hour anymore. The program I’m doing right now is 50-60mins. I’m dying🤣 20 minutes, 6x a week, for just 6 weeks. Minimal equipment and will be done in this tiny space you see behind me. That’s what I’m committing to in Jan and I literally cannot wait 🙏🏼 Not to mention, the creator is the SAME creator as the program I got the best results from ☝🏻 Is it Jan yet?! I mean, EVERYONE can fit in 20 minutes, theres 23 hours and 40 minutes to do the rest of your tasks in a day, there’s just no reason 20 minutes can’t be fit in right?!
