Bottom three was the last 3 pictures I took before I went into labor with my third born👶🏾. During my pregnancy I gained 64 lbs🤤. Why so much🤔? Well, kehlani was actually a twin😲. My life right😢😔? Well, even though I was suppose to be on bed rest🛌 until my 6 week checc up because of the multiple blood transfusions😓 and blood pressure problems from giving birth🤦🏾‍♀️, my second week home I felt well enough to start getting out of bed and moving about😄. After staying consitant with drinking water💦and green tea🥃, eating more healthier🍍🥑🍇 while doing light exercising, I'm down to 210lbs😎 (which is where I'm at now in the top picture🤷🏾‍♀️). I'm feeling good😀 and keeping positive😏 about this journey👣👣 and I've officially decided that I'm ready to kicc it up a notch now that my doc gave me the A ok👌🏾. Dinner tonight homemade tikka masala. It was supposed to be veggie but still had turkey left from yesterday so popped that in as well! So it was turkey, mushrooms, onion, garlic and tomatoes. Tonight’s tea is (Egg and Lemon,chicken soup) For the stock 1 chicken or chicken pieces 2 carrots 1 onion 2 sticks celery 2 sprigs parsley 2 bay leaves and salt and pepper For the soup 1 ltr of the chicken stock 50g orzo 3 eggs juice of 3 or more lemons salt and white pepper chopped parsley to garnish. Cook it Rinse the chicken and place in a large saucepan cover with cold water and add all the vegetables, bay leaves, pepper and season with salt. Add a chicken stock cube. Cover and bring to the boil and skim the top. Lower the heat and cook the chicken for 90 minutes. Remove the chicken and keep it warm, strain the stock discarding the vegetables so you are left with a clear stock. Place the stock in a clean saucepan and bring to the boil, add the orzo, salt and pepper and stir. Cover and simmer for 10 minutes until the orzo is done, remove from the heat and allow to cool for 5 minutes whilst you prepare your egg and lemon sauce. Beat the eggs in a bowl with the lemon juice and add 1 cup of the hot chicken stock very slowly whisking constantly. Pour the egg and lemon mixture back into the pan very slowly whisking all the time and return to a low heat for 2 minutes to warm through (do not boil or it will curdle). Taste and adjust seasoning, it may need more lemon juice. Serve immediately garnished with chopped parsley. My journey so far.......I’m taking a slight change of direction, ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I’ve been the biggest fan of weightwatchers, I’ve done a DIY approach and never been to a group. I maintained for three years and can honestly say it made me feel in control re training my tummy for portion sizes, enjoying treats without the guilt and hand on heart giving me a healthy relationship with food. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ But following the change to flex, and post baby number two I’ve become disillusioned. Posts by @unfattening @munro_fitness @thefitnesschef_ have made me rethink a long term solution including being better educated about calories and macros (back to basics don’t eat more than you burn = weight gain and vice versa). ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I’ve been tracking with @myfitnesspal, initially, alongside ww and found they were like for like with 23sp and 1200 calories, but it was easy to go over with ww blindly not knowing what foods were the worst culprits. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Above is how far I’ve come and so close to goal I’m now just enjoying the 🛤. So I’m going to do @myfitnesspal To track foods. It means actually getting workout clothes instead of the cast off baggy t-shirts and shorts I used to wear. Why? Because now I feel good when I’m working out. I’m not hiding in clothes. I’m proud of myself for exercising. Fitness to me is all about the community. Others who GET IT when you say you just barely got that workout in or when you say you felt so good you added in another 15 minutes at the end. They’re also there for all of life situations because once you start caring about your health it helps you to care for others in a way that is profound - you feel so much better you could sing it from the mountaintops and you want everyone to feel that way. Fitness is with my family. Being a good role model. Being an active member within my family and not just watching from the sidelines. Fitness means so much more to me than flexing. ‘ July 16th, So i’m feeling great today, I didn’t really go outside much because it was so hot LIKE I was sweating so bad😂 Anyway.. So i’m going to try to eat less than atleast 1.2k calories a day. My weight obviously hasn’t changed but hoping that will happen soon :) This week i might probably walk like a lot of kilometres because my friend will come over BUTTT i might end up eating some junk food since that’s what we usually do, when we are together. Day 1 of 32 workouts over the next 8 weeks! Took my measurements, before pics and accomplished my workout! I can not wait to share this journey with you all! I have fallen into some bad habits since summer started and they are just not leaving me feel my best. Of course I feel like there should be balance but sometimes when we are not tracking our nutrition before we know it we have slipped into those old habits ( like eating handfuls if trail mix in the afternoon 🙄) !
