Last night I was invited out for drinks 🍻 My initial reaction was yeah! I need a good night like that, it’ll be fun! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ BUT it was a last minute thing so before I responded, I had to take a second to think about the 2nd and 3rd waves of outcomes after the initial “fun” part was over. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 💭 Here’s what my thought process looked like: ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 1. A fun night out 🍻😃 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 2. Wake up later than usual tomorrow morning, likely a bit hungover ⏰😵 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 3. Productivity will be waaay down so I’ll have to push tasks I don’t get done on Friday into Saturday. 🔜😯 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 4. Both days are already busy, so stuff would likely move to Sunday too. ⚠️😟 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 4. Just like that, Sunday would change from a rest day to a work day! 🛑🙃 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Rest days are so important, (both in the gym and the rest of life) I realized that if I went out, I’d be regretting it Sunday, so I decided to say no. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I didn’t always make decisions like this. There was a time a couple of years ago when I’d REACT to the initial “fun” part and sign my life away for pretty much anything. I had plenty of fun, but there was a lot of wasted time, too. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Now, whenever something has the slightest possibility of throwing me off track, I make a list of logical outcomes in my head (like that list above). If I hit on something that I don’t like, I decide to say no. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Believe me, I wanted to go out last night! If I had followed my initial reaction, I would’ve been there! But this morning when I woke up at 4:30 with a clear head and full of energy, I knew I made the right move. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Using a system like this takes a fair amount of self discipline and some healthy selfishness at times, but it’s 100% worth it if you really want to take charge of your life! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ What’re your thoughts? Ingredients 2 large chicken breast fillets , skinless 1 teaspoon olive oil 2 tablespoons lemon juice 1 teaspoon minced garlic (or 1 large garlic clove, minced) 2 teaspoons dried oregano Pinch of salt Cracked pepper 1/4 cup diced bacon 2 eggs , hard boiled 6 cups Romaine lettuce leaves , washed and dried 1 cup grape tomatoes , halved 1 avocado , sliced 1/2 cup shaved parmesan cheese 1/2 cup croutons Dressing: 1/4 cup whole egg mayonnaise (reduced fat) 1/4 cup non fat Greek yogurt (or sour cream -- full fat or reduced fat) 1 tablespoon olive oil 1 clove garlic , crushed 3-4 anchovy fillets , finely chopped (adjust to your tastes) 1 tablespoon lemon juice 2 tablespoons freshly grated parmesan cheese Salt and pepper for seasoning Instructions Season chicken with the oil, lemon juice, garlic, oregano, salt and pepper. Heat a non stick grill pan (or skillet) with a small amount of olive oil; grill chicken until golden on both sides and cooked through. Remove the chicken, cover and set aside to allow to rest. (While chicken is cooking, fry you bacon and boil your eggs.) For the Caesar Dressing: Mix together the mayonnaise, yogurt, oil, garlic, anchovies, lemon juice and parmesan. Whisk until well combined; add salt and pepper to your tastes, and whisk again. Taste test and adjust the salt and pepper to your taste. Add the water for a thinner consistency. Assemble Salad: Slice chicken into thick slices. Chop up the bacon and slice the eggs. Ina. large bowl, combine lettuce with the avocado, tomatoes, parmesan cheese and croutons. Blueprint For Eternal Weight Loss by @fotis_chat . 1. Caloric Literacy: You've probably heard of counting calories and I agree, it's a great way to lose weight. But, with my clients I've found that caloric literacy is much better. That means they learn how many calories are in the foods they consume 80% of the time...and...make small changes that yield big results. . 2. Focus on behaviors, not goals: Setting goals like "by X date I want to lose Y pounds" is useless because your body has a mind of its own and doesn't care about your goals. On the other hand, figuring out the behaviors you need in order to lose weight and making them a part of your daily routine is whey smarter. . 3. Strength train: Train 3-5 times per week with a training program that combines dumbbells, barbells, machines, cables and whatever allows you to add resistance. Since it's a long-term thing, consider hiring a coach (like yours purrrrrrly) to create a program custom-tailored to your needs and show you how to keep things fresh . 4. Sleep 6-8 hours per day: Here's some science for you. A study named "Acute sleep deprivation enhances the brain's response to hedonic food stimuli" showed that not sleeping enough messes up with our brain's satiety signals. As a result, we want to eat more and we prefer junkier options of food. So unless you're interested in weight GAIN, don't neglect your zzz's . 5. "Kill" your bad parts: Ever heard the phrase "love yourself"? Sorry, but your fitness-coach-turned-life-coach is full of caca. In dating, the worst thing you can tell a guy is "be yourself!" because the poor slob needs to "kill" bad parts of himself like not training, playing games 24/7 and bathing once every 7 days. It's the same with weight loss. Hair colour transformation lool 🙋🏽‍♀️ Naaah I thought since I got so many new followers i will write something about my little booty transformation 🍑 That‘s the only thing you can probably see changed but it changed so much more than that in the couple years 💛 Read if you are interested 👉🏽 __________________________________________________ If there was a subject i hated the most in school i would probably say sports. I hated sports over everything 🙅🏽‍♀️ I was a little lazy non sporty girl always had my worst grades in sports. Today i hate restdays lol. When i got sick from heavy depression i also fell in a eating dissorder. I barely couldn‘t eat anything. At the end of the day i probably only eat one slice of bread and a little bit of water 🥖 but even then i had to throw up. I only brought 41kg on the scale. The day i saw a transformation on instagram i was quiet impressed but i didn‘t believed the progress at all. I thought it was all surgery 💉. Till the day i started lifting weights but that wasn‘t the only key to my #transformation . This workouts made me hungry again and every day i visited the gym i also eat a big meal. Yes it started with small meals but it ended up with big protein meals 🙏🏼 My body changed, i gained weight, confidence and i loved the way i felt after an intense workout 🍽🍏. __________________________________________________ But the best thing that happened to me wasn‘t the fact that i gained a booty nope. It was the fact that i came out of my depression. Fitness made me feel happy. I could escape from all the mentally problems i had for 1.5 hours a day and after every workout i felt happy, i could smile when i stood infront of a mirror and every small progress gave me more motivation. I also LOVED FOOD again!!! Today i can‘t imagine my life without a proper diet, weights and my best partner 🌸 I also have to mention that he helped me a lot during my depression 💕 he helped me to love food again. Tag your friends 💕^^ via @caloriefixes I’m telling you, the first meal prep after a vacation is always SO good! 😍This was a very special prep, keep reading to find out why. ⠀ 👫So this is for 2 people about 3-4 days who are both into veggies and eating healthy. We eat about the same amount of food. It took 3 hours and the groceries cost $67 which comes out to $4.18/meal (not including the banana bread). All of this will be stored in the fridge and I’m not sure what the calories are because I don’t count! ⠀ ✌🏼From now on, I’m going to be prepping for two most of the time! ⠀ 🍎Breakfast option 1: apple pie overnight oats. 🍌Breakfast option 2: one bowl loaded vegan banana bread. ⠀ 🍃Meal option 1: chickpea, butternut squash and spinach salad with pepitas, dried cranberries and feta cheese. ⠀ 🥦Meal option 2: teriyaki baked salmon with rice and broccoli. ⠀ 🍟Meal option 3: black bean burger with asparagus and sweet potato fries on a bed of spinach. ⠀ 🙏🏼This prep is special because it’s also the first one for my partner and I :) Love this amazing meal prep by @workweeklunch ⠀ ??? I wrote poems, stories, songs...you name it. It was a way for my to freely and safely express myself without anyone ever knowing I was talking about ME. This is an excerpt of a poem I wrote a while ago about myself. A really powerfully sad poem about how I was feeling...and when I read it today I felt really proud. Sad at how SAD I felt for myself, sad at the feelings I was feeling...BUT REALLY DAMN PROUD of where I am today. I’ve hit a lot of lows in my life, and struggled with my emotions for a long time. And don’t get me wrong - I still do. But I am so proud that I decided to fight for that girl and that I continue to fight for her... from the inside out 🌚🌝 •• Never give up on you. Find a way to express how you’re feeling, whatever feels natural for you, and then keep fighting for the life you deserve. Because you deserve to be healthy, happy, and COMFORTABLE with the body you were blessed with and the life you’re so lucky to be living. And I hope you know just how special you are.
