Okay, so. The picture on the left is from 7 years ago. I had lost about 40 pounds unhealthily, with a combo of doctor prescribed speed and some very dangerous eating habits. I remember everything just feeling wild, in a not-great way. Aaaaanyway. Cut to now, and I’ve got a decent handle on healthy weight loss (and the importance of lipstick and long enough bangs). But i still have to remind myself the number on the scale isn’t the most important thing, and to not expect to be magically happy when I reach a certain number because that’s not how it works. #facetofacefriday downer! #flashbackfriday Now vs Then (my 1st presenter pic) - be prepared for a shock (and not just the size, the hair was my own choice!!!!) . I still think of myself as that fat guy, its the strangest feeling! I know I can’t be him; the scale says I’m 10 stone lighter! Yet, when I think of myself, I get the image of that fat guy. . And just like the fat guy, I still enjoy my food, I’m just more aware of it now. And for me, thats one of the biggest keys to losing weight and keeping it off. Yes, you need to exercise, but if you’re not aware of the food you’re eating, whats in it and how much of it you’re eating, you’ll never get anywhere. . I’m not saying you have to count calories and be super strict, thats just boring. But know what goes in your food (avoid stuff with loads of sugar and lots of fat), use portion control (your stomach is about the size of your fist, you don’t need to eat loads) and have a balanced diet (research just out shows cutting carbs can lead to an early grave).

Day 77. Trying to do better about what I am eating. My calorie intake has been fine, but I am making too many not so good processed choices & getting food out, which tends to lead to high sodium. I joined a free 6 day mason jar challenge group with @messinafitmom for next week. Feeling myself this morning. Finally starting to feel a bit leaner. I started #keto back up on July 24th. It surely has been different this time around, but patience is key. My weight has been staying the same for awhile and had a 2.4 pound #fatwhoosh this morning. I'll take it! I am now 7.6 lbs away from my lowest. It's my day off, so I slept in. Now enjoying my breakfast and coffee before some much needed cleaning! Happy Friday! ✌

@prisca_fit (READ PLEASE) Almost 3 years ago, I was an 18 year old girl who weighed 180 pounds, and had the lowest self esteem any human could possibly ever have😪 and for a whole year, life for me wasn't exactly the happiest place to live😩 At age 20, I told myself that I wanted to be better, healthier, and most importantly, I wanted to be HAPPIER! Almost a year ago, I decided to change my lifestyle for the better but, I didn't just want the change for myself, I wanted it for others as well as I began to lecture all who asked "Prisca how did you do it"💪😽 Moving forward, although I had a passion for fitness at the time, I also had ABSOLUTELY no idea on how to train, no clue on how to train each muscle group, and absolutely no knowledge on how many times/hours I needed to train to achieve my goal, which also almost made me give up because I realized the more I exercised, the more I kept losing at places like my bum🍑 so it kept getting smaller instead of GROWING!!!😩All jokes aside, I remember doing cardio almost everyday until I decided to give a new workout plan I made up to see if change would come a go which required me only doing cardio 1-2 times a week for about 30 and weight train 2-3 times a week for at least 2 hours per day which worked wonders for me thanks to LIFTING😀🍑🙌 This is all to say "TRAINING" is not so bad once you get the right help and know what you are doing, you will soon begin to love it and your results🙌 . . . Cellulite, some girls have more of it than others but almost every girl has it. But we often seem to forget that it’s so normal having it. 🤷🏼‍♀️ Because of so called “perfect” pictures on instagram, we think we should look like those instagram models with the smooth skin and toned bodies. So many girls believe they have to look like that to be beautiful, worth it or to be accepted. And yes, I also believed I needed look a certain way to “fit in”. 😅 But sometimes we forget those pictures are often photoshopped, posed and edited. Please keep in mind that instagram isn’t always real life and it’s so easy to photoshop pictures. ☝🏼 Don’t be hard on yourself by wanting to look like the models on the pictures. Guys... I'm down 30 pounds!!🙀 I always thought I would be fat. No matter how many times I was "finally going to do it" it never stuck. I haven't been this size since I was in my freshman year of high school. I still have 22 more pounds to go but I feel like I've come this far 22 more is easy. No diets, no BS, just counting calories and going to the gym. Don't get me wrong I learned A LOT. I have learned so much since I stated this journey. Now it's a lifestyle. It's common to hear people talking about having a "damaged metabolism" or "metabolic damage" but sometimes the truth gets skewed. All sorts of things are thought to damage the metabolism, like alcohol, sugar, starvation mode and doing cardio. Except none of these things actually do that! The truth is your metabolism can slow with: - age (mostly because you're losing muscle as you get older) - weight loss (because a smaller body needs fewer calories than a larger one) - while dieting (because a calorie deficit can make you sluggish and avoid activity which is why you need to keep moving). There are things you can do to help like building muscle through strength training and keeping your NEAT (non-exercise activity thermogenisis) high where possible.
