My mom always told me that I had a lot of ‘moxie,’ which means ‘courage or determination.’ I was determined not to let this diagnosis get the better of me. . Since I was born with the ‘moxie’ chip in me – that meant my strong characteristic trait certainly helped me emotionally on my health journey. I wasn’t about to let anything or anyone get or keep me down. Not even cancer. . This experience carried me through many more life experiences thereafter that set a new standard and boundaries for me in how to keep going even in the face of adversity. I would no longer tolerate what was not of dignity to me. . I retired from a teaching career of 23 years and continued my education to do what I am able to do now, which is to help others find their ‘moxie’ to transform their lives and find relief from their health symptoms through shifts in nutrition and lifestyle. . 👀👀👀 Looking back to the past years, I saw myself and noticed that I tend to be a reactive person. Meaning, I tended to react to everything, good or bad. (I like to blame my outgoing personality 😂) I either had something to say, had to take a picture of something, find a solution and basically just felt the need or urge to do or say something about anything or everything. • But I realized, we don’t need a reaction for everything. Simply just observance. • There’s times I would notice tension or anxiety would start to creep up if I’m always reacting. To everything. Feeling I needed to address or find a solution to something. There’s just certain things that don’t need your reaction. Just observe it. Like a sunset. Just observe the beauty of it— nothing more, nothing less. It doesn’t need a reaction from you. (Not going to lie, when I first got my apartment, which the balcony has these gorgeous views of the sunset, I took 100 pictures that literally looked the same and I never truly enjoyed the colors and the way it hit the clouds. And now, I simply observe the beauty of it, and because I got 100 shots of it already lol) • Then comes our thoughts in our minds. Our minds are constantly chattering about everything and anything. Good and bad; and believe it or not, more so bad. A lot of what ifs, insecurities and self doubts. But learning to not react to the ‘bad’ takes mad skill. You don’t need to react to the negativity in your mind, just simply observe them. Don’t act on it. Don’t stop yourself from doing something you want simply because a negative ‘what if’ or doubt popped up in your mind. Just be like, “oh that’s cute, another negative thought”. Observe, acknowledge and simply move on. And I’m mastering this skill day by day, and it’s pretty legit how good you can get, lol!! • Learning to not react so much, but to observe more. On anything. ☺️ Have a fun weekend!! 🎉 . . . .
