When we start meditation practice with the expectations of what benefits we’re supposed to reap by the end of the session, we program ourselves to be anywhere else but in the ”here and now..” Meditation is a state of awareness, ”I am Present.” When you feel your own body, your own feelings, you pay attention to the thoughts, to the external sounds, etc., Sometimes 20 mins of meditation can go so fast that you will be left surprised at how fast the time flew and sometimes you will feel that every minute is longer than an hour. One time your thoughts will be positive and uplifting, another time they might be disturbing and there will be times when you will have a bliss of nothingness-no thoughts at all.
One of the keys to an authentic meditation is to meet yourself where you are in this particular time of your life and let the meditation fill you up with what you need and heal you at this miraculous moment.
