E. Wedel Ptasie Mleczko 🕊🥛 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- It's just another manic Monday 🎵, and that calls for something special to review tonight. These are ptasie mleczko, an absolute classic Polish treat. For some reason I have never gotten round to trying these! (I have tried the Russian version though птицы молоко) @e.wedel is one of my absolute favourite chocolate brands. They come in a range of flavours but this is the original. What are they? Ptasie Mleczko literally means birds milk. A lovely soft, marshmallow (similar to the filling in a Tunnocks teacake or Snowball!) In a thin layer of rich dark chocolate. Polish chocolate is always fantastic quality and here it complements the sweet marshmallow centre perfectly. They're light,fluffy and delicious. You get 36 in a box, and eating them all would be an easy task! I definitely need to try some more flavours of them (including the limited edition cinnamon flavour I saw recently!). ’Chicken sausage pie’ actually turned out more like a frittata but was tasty! ❇️ Grill a pack of @heckfooduk chicken italia sausages. ❇️ Fry a large chopped onion, 7-8 closed cup mushrooms and a pack of cabbage greens until slightly soft. ❇️ Add 3 generous teaspoons of Dijon mustard and 2 chicken stock cubes. ❇️ Beat 50g of plain flour with 150ml of milk. Add 4 eggs and beat together. ❇️ Chop cooked sausages and place in an ovenproof dish along with cooked vegetables and pour over the egg mixture. Add 50g of grated cheese (I used black bomber cheese). ❇️ Cook in a preheated oven at 170 degrees for 20 mins or until cooked through. ✅ This made 4 portions and was under 400 cals 😊

The easiest way to stay healthy during the holidays // plan and prep. 👊🏼 Even just a tiny bit. Like…how about a 5-minute meal prep? That makes THREE breakfast servings. These little pecan pie chia parfaits are so simple to throw together. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Take a few minutes to mix together the almond milk with the chia seeds the night before. Then in the morning, layer with yogurt (dairy-free, if desired), warming spices, and roasted pecans. 🍂 And voilà, an easy, detoxifying breakfast that's great for digestion and full of omega-3s (chia!) and will keep you full until lunch (no 10am sugar crash with these babies). Here’s the recipe 👇🏼(makes 3 servings): ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 2 cups unsweetened almond milk (I like @nectarandgreen) 2 Medjool dates, pitted 1 teaspoon vanilla extract sea salt 1/2 cup chia seeds 1 cup yogurt (dairy-free coconut yogurt if desired), divided collagen peptides, optional (I like @vitalproteins or @greatlakesgelatin ) 1 1/2 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice, plus more if desired 6 tablespoons roasted pecans, chopped
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Add almond milk, pitted dates, vanilla extract, and a big pinch of sea salt to a blender and blend until smooth and creamy. Pour mixture into a large bowl and add 1/2 cup chia seeds. Mix well and then divide the mixture between three jars or glasses. Cover and put into the fridge to set overnight.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ In the morning, to one chia parfait, add 1/3 cup yogurt mixed with 1/2 teaspoon (or more!) of pumpkin pie spice and 1 serving of collagen peptides for a protein boost (optional). ‘Tis the season to trial-run recipes for the holidays! It’s probably the perfectionist streak in me, but I’m a HUGE proponent of trying out recipes ahead of time, before making them for friends or family . Not only does it make me feel more comfortable and familiar with a new recipe or technique, but it also allows me to make changes to the recipe that I prefer. Not to mention, it also means that my boyfriend eats well all year round as the guinea pig for my kitchen experiments 😅 . This was a recipe for brown mushrooms stuffed with a lemon, quinoa, and dill filling. They were pretty darn tasty, but holy heck am I glad I tested it out beforehand. From this trial-run, I learned that: (1) I definitely need to triple the recipe for the filling - the amount I made filled eight mushrooms, when the recipe called for 25!!; (2) I definitely want to use millet instead of quinoa because I think it’ll be a more satisfying texture difference; (3) I want to sprinkle some nooch on top of the mushrooms before they go into the oven to give them a hint of cheesiness; and (4) I want to brush the mushrooms with olive oil rather than spray them, as the recipe instructs. . This was only one of many holiday recipe test-runs, so stay tuned for the millions more to come... #onlyaslightexaggeration #itsthemostwonderfultimeoftheyear

😊Hey ihr Lieben, Selten aber doch immer wieder gibt's bei mir auch Brot. Heute als Snack mit der bekannten Brombeer-Apfel🍏-Marmelade und Schoko-Nuss-Creme und dazu vegetarische Weingummis🍬 und Milka🍫 Karamell-Schokolade. In Berlin gibt es sehr viele Veganer/Veganerinnen🌽🍆 und gefühlt jeder zweite, vor allem Mädchen👧 und junge Frauen, sind mindestens Vegetarierinnen. Ich selber bin auch seit 6,5 oder auch schon 7,5 Jahren😅 Vegetarierin und zwar aus ethischen Gründen🐖. Ich bin gegen die Massentierhaltung und allgemein Viehzucht🐄. Trotzdem habe ich kein Problem damit, wenn andere Fleisch🍖 essen, denn so etwas sollte jeder selber entscheiden. Ich habe schon ab und an überlegt, selber auf vegan umzusteigen, denn die Hühner🐔 und Milchkühe🐄 werden auch nicht gut behandelt. Hin und wieder habe ich Mal eine vegane Woche📅 gemacht, aber im Endeffekt ist es mir eine zu große Einschränkung❌. Besonders im Moment wäre diese zusätzliche Einschränkung schlecht für mich😬. Manche sagen auch, dass schon vegetarisch🍳 zu beschränkt ist😐, aber es ist mir eben sehr wichtig🙏 und ich esse ja auch schon seit langem, also auch schon vor der Magersucht, kein Fleisch🍗 mehr. Recent breakfasts: oatmeal with nuts and seeds (including black sesame seeds colouring the whole thing sorta grey), spiced chia pudding, and veggie and nut filled idli (preparing our taste buds for next summer 🙊). • It is the season for my alltime favourite apple, Lobo, and they are so crazy delicious that it’s like sweets to me. I’m otherwise not so big on apples but Lobos are life. I’ve been annoyed, though, that so many grocery shops here sell little to no domestic apples even though it is the season for them. On top of that, it has been a really good year for apple production. They still have like a bunch of imported apples in a hundred different varieties in shops and they are all so dull compared to the locally grown. Went into town today as had a dentist appoinment, I haven't had a check up since I was diagnosed with Crohn's back in 2015. It was actually my dentist who suspected Crohn's disease as I had the typical "cobblestone" marks on my gums and this is how I was diagnosed. Luckily the dentist said my oral hygiene was perfect and no signs of decay was visible, bonus! Went into Greg's to grab some breakfast, which was cold and gross and went straight in the bin. While we were in there I saw their chicken and bacon baguettes and really fancied one. I knew I had some baguette left at home so thought I'd make something similar. Was so yummy!
