Let’s talk about gratitude! How many times in a day have we looked at ourselves and thought ‘I hate my life ! I hate the way I look! ‘ how many times have we scrolled enviously through those impeccable pics on social pages and felt ugly ! I bet there also have been moments when someone’s ‘Oh you look so thin/fat’ would have affected you so much that you became so harsh on yourself and allowed yourself to tear apart ! Let me tell you this ! I have been all of 34 kilos and have fought and survived a chronic illness and been body shamed while I was at it trying to get back to life. Those comments which had pushed me into those scary dark corners. So when you tell me how you feel about your body , I feel you ! On a daily basis , I still hear nasty remarks from known and unknown people, but I have learned to be immune to them now. Today, I have learned to find peace even during my body’s bad days and not give up.Very reason why body shaming is a strict NO in my vocabulary. So next time you are about to tell that person next to you about how they look; think ! Is it necessary ? Will it make them or break them ? Will it create anything positive or meaningful ? Having curves or not having them , being fair skinned or not falling in the bracket of so called conventional definitions of beauty ; all this doesn’t define who you are ! So next time you are getting pushed into darkness , let me tell you to flip the script ! Instead of being unhappy , terrified , tired , worn out , hopeless or miserable; let’s be grateful for our lives ... our bodies. Take care of your body and love it with all its perfect imperfections! YOU GOT THIS!
