Make peace with your body.
Remember, that every part of your body serves a unique function. Your legs, they take you places. Your arms, they help you carry all those groceries at once, help you keep your loved ones as close as possible, and provide balance. The list goes on and on.
But remember, you are more than just your parts. We often speak about “wholeness” at #ProjectHappiness, that you are whole right now just as you are. This applies to your physical body as well. You are a #WHOLE person, with a beautiful, miraculous body, and when people look at you, they look at you entirely, not one part at a time.
A little note to those whose #body doesn’t always work they way they should – people who experience pain, chronic illnesses, and often suffer silently. Sometimes posts like these are painful, when you think to yourself, “but my body ISN’T whole.” You are not alone – we see you, and we understand that sometimes the biggest victory is just getting out of bed. As @andrewgibby said, “You will never have a greater opportunity to learn to love your enemy than when your enemy is your own red blood.” Although your body may need additional assistance to work properly, it is a #miracle that the other parts of your body continue to function; they step in and work a little harder, and where the body can’t do what it needs to, modern medicine and human spirit make up the rest of the way.
So today, take one minute and list three things your body does for you.
Make peace with your beautiful body.
