Run day! Carbo loaded this morning while being Whole30 compliant. I’m learning to cook on an electric stove after 8 years of cooking on a gas one so I’ve managed to miss over medium on my eggs and hit over hard for 3 days in a row, bummer. But look at the golden brown I got on those potatoes this morning. I also enjoyed a cup of hazelnut coffee, people who know me know I despise coffee without sugar, syrup, or ten tons of some type of sweetener, so the fact that I actually enjoyed a cup with nothing other than coconut cream is a surprise. However it could be because I enjoyed it in my 2nd favorite cup of all times that quite literally speaks the truth. ROUND 2 DAY 13: Tuna boats on Bibb lettuce! • Am I really almost halfway done with this Whole30?! I think it’s flown by because of how busy I’ve been at work and being occupied by the Red Sox almost every night! • Today for lunch I made tuna boats on Bibb lettuce. This is the first time I made tuna boats this round! It is one of my boyfriend and I’s favorite lunches. He eats so much though that I have to double the amount of tuna that the @whole30 book calls for 😂 It was the perfect lunch after sleeping in. (No I did not watch the whole Red Sox game... I made it to 1:45am. It ended around 3:30 ET!) • Tuna boats are quite filling with all the protein and fats, hoping this lunch keeps me full until dinner! • What do you like to put tuna boats on? Endives? Green pepper slices? Celery?

Good morning friends! Whole 30 day 13! This is breakfast in my hotel room as I am at my last NTP workshop and just took my finals yesterday! 🎉 . Thankfully my appetite seems to have returned since finals are over! This breakfast is all food that I cooked at home earlier this week and then packed in glass Pyrex dishes and brought with me in a cooler. I kept them in the mini fridge in the room and then this morning put it on a paper plate and took it downstairs to the lobby and heated it up in the microwave. It is definitely more work to eat well while you are traveling, but it is totally possible with a little extra time and preparation!! . For lunch today, I made chicken salad and will take it along with some lettuce and an avocado for my lunch. In my purse I have some Larabars and meat sticks in case I need a snack. Tonight we are having a graduation party and are getting dinner from Zoe‘s Kitchen which thankfully has whole 30 compliant options! . The lighting in my kitchen is really terrible, but this cozy fall meal was delicious! . Roasted chicken w/ roasted Brussels sprouts and butternut squash . Got a little ROMWOD in today post-workout 🧘🏼‍♀️ . I am an impatient person by nature 🤷🏼‍♀️ So, naturally, I have always hated stretching… and getting me to do yoga is is like pulling teeth 🙅🏼‍♀️ It has always seemed like a ‘waste of my time’... . A few months ago I ran a half marathon - I hadn’t been running as much as I normally had in the past, but I was still working out 5-6 days a week and making sure to get long cardio sessions in to help prepare me for my race. Race day came, and about 5 miles in my joints started aching, 7 miles in my back started getting sore, and by the end of the race I felt like I couldn’t move ☠️ . That race was a wake up call for me that I need to take better care of my body. So I have really been trying to be more intentional about making time for walking, stretching, and ROMWOD videos like these. And my body thanks me for it 🙌🏼💕

Another new recipe tried tonight, Whole 30 Ramen by @thedefineddish 🍲🍽 - Really delicious, quick and easy to make. Only took me around 20-25 minutes all up. - Also side note: these are the first soft boiled eggs I've ever been successful with! Every other time I've tried they've either been overdone or still raw eggwhite 😷 Her instructions are to get your water rapidly boiling, slowly add in your eggs, turn down to a rapid simmer, cook for 7 minutes and then out & into a bowl of cold water. On Tuesdays I’m out of the house 7:30am-9pm, so my food for the day usually includes bars and snacks. I’ve been struggling to find good @whole30 bars that have a decent amount of carbs, so I’ll usually just add in a banana or apple to make up for it. RX bars are my favorite, and on @whole30 I’ve been sticking to the fruity flavors like this kids’ apple cinnamon raisin one. 🍎🍂 I usually only eat non-fish meat when traveling or attending social events, but I wanted to try this @wildzorafoods bar before I bring a whole box of them with me on a trip this weekend, and I loved this curry turkey one—spicy and sweet! 🦃 And saving the best for last: @phdmademefat gave me this @rxbar vanilla almond butter, and it was AMAZING. #whole30day13 breakfast: bananas fried in coconut oil and cinnamon, topped with flax milk, chia, pumpkin seed, hemp hearts, raisins, and coconut. Hard boiled eggs on the side. The last two days have been very challenging with weird blood sugar volatility issues happening the middle of the night and preventing sleep. Adding a bit of pre-bed protien made a huge difference, and pushing through these difficult moments gives me so much confidence in achieving my health goals. My clothes are fitting looser, I have more energy, more mental clarity, more patience. My favorite breakfast with all the trimmings and still steaming. Two slices of bacon, cut in half...and placed in a square on a sheet pan covered with tinfoil and baking spray. Put in cold oven (so it doesn’t curl) and then set 400 degrees. Cook for ten minutes. Crack an egg in the middle. Put in for three-four minutes more. Take in and drown in EBTB seasoning. Served over arugula, with some @unboundwellness pickled onions, avocado and pesto squash.

Buger bowl and oven fries. This was the meal I made myself, instead of giving up and ordering a carne asada burrito today. I was literally crying while I cooked I so drained,so tired, I don't know why I struggled today, but #whole30day13 was my hardest day and I made it. I planned everything out for whole30 during recovery but somehow over looked coming home, thank GOD I had these @westerngrassfed patties thawed out. I am so pleased with my dinner, amd ready for a bath, and some sleepytime tea.

My entire life I have used and abused food. I have tried countless things and did them but honestly it felt complicated and did not align. . One day I began following @melissa_hartwig. She was incredibly real and has a HUGE heart which is how I met @strawberry.shields!!! Which is what began my journey with @whole30 much sooner than I ever was planning. This community is truly incredible. . Here I am at Day 13 of my first Whole30. My first experiment where I have such a deep why that even when I have wanted to quiet I keep going.... because as a medically retired military veteran I’m hopeful there is something else other than deep inflammation and pain the rest of my life. I’m determined to feel a little bit better. I always tell my clients about growing through what you go through and this is truly a test of the Growth Method I teach. Daily it is a practice of Surrendering to my old feelings, habits, and emotions with food. Releasing the things which no longer serves my soul and it’s highest good. Giving myself grace every moment in this journey and truly living #mealbymeal. Which ultimately is leading me to flow through this journey and learn so much about me and my habits along the way. . To grow in life we must get uncomfortable and weed out our garden of those things which are no longer leading us to where it is we dream of going. . Kissing all sugar good by except for fruit and dates has just been something my #sugaraddicted soul needed to break free from years of abuse. To the point I would take my sugar to bed with me. . Now it is all about feeling the emotions and finding other ways to manage and tune in life... #efttapping , chiropractic, journaling, walkings in nature, laughter, water, and so many other healthy habits I’m learning. . Happy Saturday Friends and Followers 🙋‍♀️it’s DAY 1️⃣3️⃣ on my #septemberwhole30 journey and I am still alive and well! Day 13 Felt a little "over it" today. But I kinda just shut my brain off and made compliant food. B:bacon & eggs with sauteed spinach L: ground pork, sweet potato, and spinach with hemp hearts; cucumber and apple with nut butter S: so random. I had planned to make a huge salad...but my lettuce was bad. So I had leftovers...cucumbers, sweet potato, spinach, boiled eggs- drizzled with ranch. Notice I ate in the break room today 😁 Day 13. Just give me a coffee and I’ll be fine. 13a. Teton sausage, sweet potato and nut butter 13b. Chicken, chicken and broccoli 13c. Apple, Rx bar, applesauce 13d. Five guys burger, grilled veggies. So tempted to sneak a treat today. But since I’m publicly doing this challenge that would make me a liar so therefore I resisted. Whole 30 Day 13- Today we only worked half a day since Hurricane Florence is coming. I grabbed a RX Bar for breakfast (definitely need to prep breakfast for work next week) and had Chipotle for lunch again 🙈- it’s just so good. For dinner we had roasted chicken, peas, and I attempted garlic mashed potatoes but it just isn’t the right flavor with cashew milk 😆. How is everyone else doing?
