This week has been BUSY so far 😬 and when my husband ate leftovers from a lunch out for dinner yesterday to give me a night off, I was pumped because I thought I had leftover cauliflower gnocchi in the fridge for lunch today... but I didn’t 😭🤦🏼‍♀️ (I always eat leftovers from the night before for lunch) and I didn’t feel like making anything, so another lunch out... but this was so good! And same as the other day, I have no idea if this exact bowl is #whole30 but it can EASILY be made #whole30compliant at home, so I’m tagging it because I always need ideas for good #whole30approved meals 🤷🏼‍♀️💁🏼‍♀️ Steak + vegan potato salad + mustard slaw + roasted brussel sprouts + caramlized onion + and green onion 🙌 so delicious and a great post workout refuel meal!

I’ve been doing more research on superfoods lately ⚡️ There are 70 in my daily shake and my goal is to learn a little something about each one 🙌🏻 Today I researched Camu Camu. Dinner from a few nights ago. I try to keep consistent with posting but life comes first. I get home, eat dinner, wash dishes, do some sort of movement (lately it's been Yoga), shower, read, and try to do it all before my 9 p.m. bedtime to ensure I get 8 hours of sleep.😪 I'm also trying to squeeze meditation in there somewhere. A little at a time, I guess. On my plate: Garlic Zoodles, Sauteed Chard and Bok Choy in Coconut Aminos, Sauteed Organic Grape Tomatoes (love these); and Baked Asian inspired Meatballs made with Coconut Aminos, Sea Salt, Pepper, Garlic, Sesame Oil, Ground Ginger, Scallions, and an Egg. Topped the Meatballs with a simple mixture of Sesame Oil, Olive Oil, and Sambal Oelek Chili. Good morning! How is your week going? Starting to get those weekend vibes slightly prematurely, as spring has most definitely sprung, meaning lots of fresh air, freedom and outdoorsy fun and games to look forward to. . . Throwing back to last night’s bowl, which was a light, bright, veggie packed one, after a huge, late sweet potato-full lunch. . . Having been utterly bowled over by the beautiful scenery on what was intended to be a relatively short beach walk, I ended up wandering off the beaten track, getting a little bit lost and having to run most of the way back partly to avoid any snakes/spiders/murderers lurking in the long grass and partly to avoid a hefty fine from the traffic warden over the soon-to-expire ticket on my car. . . The apple and bottle of water in my backpack, quite frankly did little for my energy levels, but a winning combination of slow release carbs and masses of protein from sweet potato, hummus and quinoa, with a healthy side of greens, almonds and avocado, absolutely hit the spot. . . It’s worth listening to the body and eating intuitively, as in the long run, it definitely beats restricting calories and dieting any day of the week. It’s all about making sustainable dietary and lifestyle changes to maintain health and nutritional balance. . . Garlicky cauli, broccoli and raw carrot ribbons over spinach, kale and edamame, dressed with balsamic and soy and topped with pepitas. Plenty of fibre, heaps of antioxidants and most importantly, seriously yummy! . . Happy Thursday! Have a lovely one, whatever you’re up to.... . . 💜🚗🐍🏖🏃‍♀️🏖🕷🚓💜

Best breakfast everrrrr 🍳 sauteed sweet potato, mushrooms and spinach, 2 fried eggs and half of avo 🥑 remember to cook in good (anti inflammatory) oils! Ghee, avocado, coconut oil and even butter are great. Olive oil is best for low heat cooking and salads. Happy humpday!

WHY I DON’T CELEBRATE WEIGHT LOSS — When you get a good grade on a test, you celebrate and are proud of yourself. BUT when you get a bad grade, you’re devastated/upset and disappointed in yourself. — Just like when you step on the scale and it goes down, you celebrate & are pleased with your work. BUT when it goes up, you’re devastated/upset, think you’ve messed up, & are disappointed in yourself. — EVERY EXTREME HIGH HAS AN EXTREME LOW. Read that again. Then again. — If you celebrate weight loss, the inverse reaction would be you will be devastated with weight gain. — I would rather celebrate a birthday. A new car. A good test grade. A career move. Saving money. Overcoming a fear. Not my body reacting with gravity & displaying a smaller number on a scale. — Your body is not made up of 100% fat. In fact, it’s made up of mostly water, some organs, some muscle, and then some fat. All these factors are contributing to your gravitational pull to the earth (aka your weight.) So why when we step on the scale we assume we gained 2-3lbs of FAT from one day to the next? — I’m not going to be upset if I step on the scale and I’m up a few pounds. Because guess what? (Its probably not fat)🙃 ((and even if it is, why is that such a bad thing?))🤔 I’m sure I loved every second of the enjoyable food i ate with my friends and family or my inactivity because I gave myself a freakin day or two or five to relax. — You’re way too talented, too beautiful, and too valued to let a number of a scale decide what mood you’re going to be in. Good OR bad. ❤️

What are you the most excited for as we head into a new season? 🍁🍂For me, it’s boots, warm drinks, cooler temps, and all of the seasonal food. At the top of my list-CHILI! . . . I tested this recipe on Monday to be used in a cooking demo next week-and I think I hit it out of the park. Fun facts: •The vegan sources of protein (beans + quinoa) make it a $$ friendly meal •The tomatoes as a base are a great source of vitamin C to help us absorb the iron in the beans •I’ve loaded it with veggies so we get a good heart my dose of fiber •If I had followed the recipe and remembered the sweet potato, there would have been a nice mix of sweet and spicy •The Fritos are just delicious (thanks @holly.falke for the nudge yesterday) . . . Let’s talk about tofu! I don’t cook with it as much as I use to because it’s high in fat, but when I do I only use organic/non-GMO! Tofu-scramble is my husbands favorite, 1 block of extra firm drained tofu, add some onion, tomato, green pepper, spinach, spices include turmeric, nutritional yeast, liquid aminos & black pepper. I’ve been working a lot recently on a nutrition lecture that I’ll be doing at @originalhotyogafortlauderdale - and it has been incredibly inspiring for me. I’ve been in a “flow” (you know, where you are working on something that you’re so into and the time flies by?) while generating content and ideas to speak about.. and the main theme is stepping away from the “conventional dieting approach” which focuses on cutting calories or food groups. How many times have you cut out bread because you’re trying to lose weight? Who’s tried the keto, paleo, vegan, pescatarian, or slim fast (throw back!) with hopes to lose weight?? We live in a culture that doesn’t know how to eat - AT ALL - and it’s terrifying to say the least, because disease and mental health is plummeting. Even healthcare experts focus on nutrition recommendations like, “eat more dairy to help your bones.” News flash - there are MULTIPLE nutrients and lifestyle behaviors that affect bone health.✊🏼✊🏼💪🏼💪🏼 I’M TAKING A DAMN STAND! We need to step away from this paradigm and start focusing on the BIGGER PICTURE. Stop caring about your weight - start caring about your HEALTH. #antidietdietitian #antidiet

The progress I have made mentally in just one day is absolutely unbelievable. I've given my body what it wants, and needs, and with no guilt. Unbelievable. I never imagined I could have a day like this.....EVER!!!!!! Ending a flipping amazing day with Oppo Madagascar vanilla cheesecake, to satisfy my sweet tooth. Like I preach, everything to be had in moderation in order for your body to stay happy, health, AND satisfied. But; it's also important to have everything in moderation for your #mentalhealth I can't wait to reach a healthy weight again, start lifting weights, find my smile, personality, and enjoy life once again! So much better than wallowing in an eating disorder, in absolute misery watching everyone else live whilst your wasting your life. There's so much happiness to be found, like Albus Dumbledore said once you just need to "remember to turn the light on" my lights been off for so long, and finally it's starting to slowly come back on, soon I will be flipping GLOWING!!!!! HOLY COW. As in holy cow this tastes like cow but it’s not!!! I’m officially obsessed with @beyondmeat! I cannot believe how good the taste and texture of this meatless burger was! I love a good veggie burger, don’t get me wrong but when you’re craving a real burger it doesn’t do the trick. THIS however will TOTALLY do the trick. It’s gluten free, soy free and GMO free. It has 20 grams of protein from pea protein and 30% of your daily iron! The ingredients themselves aren’t scary either. I’m so shocked and so excited—cannot WAIT to try their other products!! . Speaking of meat... I’ve officially been meat free for a year as of this week and I feel AMAZING. Don’t miss it at all. I’m not saying this is something for everyone, but for me it’s working really well and my overall health and digestion has been great ever since going vegetarian. Plate details....... I topped my burger off with some organic Monterrey jack cheese, hummus, red onion, Romaine lettuce and toasted @traderjoes gluten free bread.

It's that time of year where everyone gets overly excited for all things pumpkin, yes I'm guilty! To me anything pumpkin taste good. I love making pumpkin oats and chia pudding too. I even have a killer pumpkin Chile recipe. You can totally rock the PUMPKIN SPICE season without the junk! 🙅🏻‍♀️ . People really obsess over pumpkin coffee drinks (lattes, frappuccinos, ect) which are chuck full of empty calories, chemicals, ect. Lets just say they aren’t a high vibe drink and way over priced! 👎🏼 . Here’s my solution! 🙌🏼🔥🎃 • 1/4 cup of Dandy blend or coffee • 1/4 tsp vanilla extract • 2 scoops collagen • 3 dashes of pumpkin pie spice (if you want it more pumpkin-y you can add 1-2 tbsp of real pumpkin purée, which I love to do) • Dash of allspice and nutmeg and cardamon •1 tablespoon coconut cream (fat off the top of the can) or 1/4 cup almond milk • 1 tsp of organic raw honey or more to taste. • 1 1/2 cups boiling water . If your feeling like chocolate, add 1 tsp of cocoa powder for a pumpkin chocolate twist. Mix in @vitamix and ENJOY! 🎃☕️ . Seriously, taste better then anything commercial you can buy, plus it's real food with HIGH VIBE nutritious ingredients. Soup for sick days 😷 . So I’m home from work today because some kind of bad bug got me. Not sure if it was food poisoning or what, but this girl didn’t sleep at all last night. It’s hard to keep things down, but when I need an easy meal that makes me feel better, I turn to soup. This packet was easy and clean (swipe for info). I used creamer potatoes, @bonafideprovisions bone broth, and a mix of homemade unsweetened almond milk with a touch of coconut milk. I added salt, garlic and some sage, to taste. Then I puréed it all together with my immersion blender. I put freshly shaved Parmesan on this one, but ate mine without.

And BON APPÉTIT 😍 . 🇫🇷 Ça les enfants, c'est la plus heureuse assiette de l'été. . Le combo, avocat/fraise....C'est juste délicieux 😭😍 . Greek Baked Stuffed Tomatoes with Rice (Yemista) ✔Boil brown rice, according to instructions ✔Slice the tops of the beef tomatoes, and scoop the insides out. Blend the insides into a juice. ✔Sautee finely chopped onion, courgette and garlic in olive/avocado oil. Add the tomato juice from above, add plenty of chopped mint and oregano (jars will do, I prefer fresh). Season and add the drained, cooked rice. Cook until the juice is absorbed into the rice. Not too dry, but no visible liquid. ✔In a baking tray, add a tomato tin blitzed or passata. Season and add garlic, olive oil and more mint and oregano. ✔Stuff the tomatoes with the rice mixture. Hello, I'm Sonali. In my late teens, the Doctors diagnosed me as having IBS. Following all the information I could get, I was unable to control the symtoms or alleviate the pain. I tried many other diets such as gluten free and lactose free, neither of which worked for me. In more recent years, my Osteopath who follows a holistic approach, diagnosed me as a potential candida sufferer. With research, I realised that the symptoms were scarily similar to mine. When looking at the limited 'foods you can' eat list, and the lack of variety, I decided to continue to suffer. Last year I became plant-based, and became interested in healthy foods. Spurred initially by weight loss, I continued to spend time researching how and which foods can nourish and heal the body. In February 2018, I decided that I was finally ready to follow the candida diet. Getting all my information from www.thecandidadiet.com, I cleansed for three months. After coming off the cleanse, I found foods and recipes that not only do I enjoy but have worked for me in keeping my candida in check. I wanted to share these with you all. Please note that you must do your own research and always cleanse first. My selected foods and recipes will hopefully help you, but you must find what works best for you, as I'm not a qualified dietician. Supplements and exercise will help, I will I talk about them in another post in more detail. I will occasionally use non candida friendly foods, but I have found no harm in having them occasionally. For those of you that are not candida sufferers, but intersted in a healthy plant-based diet, you are equally welcome! I hope these recipes offer something for everyone.
