You can’t deny that Doritos rule 😋 You may not eat them anymore ‘cause they are filled with artificial crap and dyes, but sometimes I miss those orange stained fingers 🖐 I used to have after sitting down to a bag of these chips after school 🤭. Crack open a bag and everyone around you takes 3 steps back 😷 and waits for the corners of your mouth to turn orange 👄. Well it’s 2018, and if you’re still sitting down to a bag of Doritos, we have a problem here 👊🏼. I can’t deny that I love the flavour of them, so I’ve created a healthy guilt-free alternative. ‘Doritos style’ kale chips! 💚 All that cheesy, spicy, flavour you crave, without the crap! Don’t knock it ‘till u try it 👌🏼 🌶 Doritos style Kale Chips 🧀 - 4 cups of organic kale (stems removed and torn into “chip size” pieces - 1 tbsp of olive oil or coconut oil (melted if using)
- 3 tbsp of nutritional yeast
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp chili powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
- 1/4 tsp Himalayan pink salt
- 1/8 tsp cayenne pepper ➖Preheat oven to 300 degrees F. Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
➖Remove leaves from stems of kale and tear into chip-size pieces. Wash and dry very well the prepared kale. (Very important that kale is super dry so that oil will really stick 💡)
➖Place kale in a bowl and rub with oil. Make sure to massage the oil into each piece very well, but don’t over soak and make it soggy.. find the happy medium 😋
➖Sprinkle on spices and toss well to combine. I find using my hands here works best!
➖Spread kale chips onto prepared baking sheets, making sure not to over crowd the pan. ➖Bake for 10 minutes, then rotate the pan and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, watching that it doesn’t start to burn.
➖Let “chips” cool on pan for 2-3 minutes and then enjoy the 🧀-y crunch! 🤟🏼 .
