This bowl might look boring to you, but this is what my usual lunch bowl looks like: grains/squash/potato + legumes/tofu/lentils + veggies + some sauces/dips/healthy fats! I change it up by using different spices everyday and combining different carbs, fats and protein sources - I never get bored of bowls like these because they are never the same 😄 I use up any leftovers in these bowls so it saves time and money, great for student life ☺️ #nourishbowl deets: mixed legumes (cooked in herbs, garlic powder and some tomato paste for a burst of flavour), brown rice, carrots, cucumber and hummus 🤤❤️

Update: Чтобы не вводить в заблуждение, на фото рядом находящийся Manhattan Bridge😉 тоже очень красивый😋 Немного о Бруклинском мосте (т.к. ранее я уже писала о нем-продолжу). Меня очень тронула история создания этого моста ну и кое-какие факты👇🏼 Brooklyn Bridge - это одна из самых главных достопримечательностей Нью Йорка. Этот мост построенный в готическом стиле не только магистраль, которая соединяет между собой район Манхэттен и район Бруклин, но и, так сказать, визитная карточка города😊 Мне даже сложно представить, что этот мост строили около 13 лет (хотя нет, не сложно, помню, как я выросла, пока девятиэтажку напротив нашего дома выстроили🤣). И на момент открытия этого моста, он был самым длинным подвесным мостом в мире! Аж 2 км. Кстати, конструкция связок, как говорят рукописи, была уникальная, которую сам того не подозревая, разработал Джон Реблинг. Он сам даже руководил процессом и при этом получил тяжелую травму и скончался от заражения крови😔 но на этом вся печаль не закончилась и сын, который продолжил дело отца, тоже скончался. И все же, продолжить и завершить собственное дело мужа и сына нашла в себе силы Эмили Реблинг. Все создатели увековечены мемориальной доске, находящаяся на самом же мосту. Реблинг создал действительно уникальную прочную конструкцию, ведь ранее построенные такие подвесные мосты не дожили до наших времён. И как я уже говорила в предыдущем посте, меня этот мост очаровал, он красив со всех сторон. The small kid woke me up at 4:30am this to inform me he’d hurt his willy. A rather cruel time and unusual method of giving me a jumpstart on the day, cheers mate. . But while I’m running ahead of schedule I may as well roll with it, and nothing gives me a greater sense of smug fucker FIGJAMism than having dinner ready in the middle of the afternoon to whack in the oven later. And if we’re talking about multi-tasking meals a veggie loaded lasagne is a total fucking heavyweight champion when it comes to all in one meal prep to get the job done. And double bonus, the leftovers taste even better with a coupla days to mature, or freeze well for days when CBF prevails. . Packing the bolognese out with a shittonne of veg is a cunning way to stretch 400 grams of beef mince to more than enough for four hungry adult meals. In the meaty mix - mushrooms, red and yellow capsicum, a pack of frozen spinach, finely chopped broccoli, onion and tinned tomatoes. Lentils are another useful addition to up the plant matter component but my digestive system is just not a fan of those things (💨💩🙅🏼‍♀️). Layer it up with eggplant and zucchini strips in place of pasta plus a cauliflower white sauce and you’ve smashed your 5+ a day out of the park. Carbs! Carbs! Carbs! Some are good, some are meh... I had someone sign a card off to me saying “in carbs we trust” 😂 Legit. So legit. To Amy and Morgan, thank you it made my day! This tart featured on @healthy_ish is on my list of something to make! However I’m going to try it out with a GF crust. Carbs. A word we’ve been taught to hate by the weight loss dieting movements. But did you know, your brain functions from carbohydrates? Also your muscles take glucose derived from carbohydrates and use it to keep moving and working! There’s a reason that carbohydrates are called a macronutrient, because we still need them! Often times it’s the type of carbs we’re choosing that gets us in a pickle. Some with severe hormone issues have to be very careful about the amounts and types of carbs they eat. Other times people who suffer from hypoglycaemia need carbs in their diet. Gotta love that balance! And tis the season! Their store is located at 527 First Street in LaSalle....ph: 815-250-0527. “Vegetables...sounds BORING!! Who eats them? And how MANY fresh ORGANIC veggies are you consuming? Yet everyone knows that they are the HEALTHIEST foods on the planet.” Sandy provided a convincing argument for really analyzing what we eat...and the ultimate effect it has on our overall health. She detailed her own mother’s fondness for fried chicken, catfish and fast food – and how those highly processed foods ultimately took their toll on her wellness. “What you put into your body will either help you or hurt you” was her message. It was with that concept in mind that she and Jeff opened Rawfully Yours – with the goal of serving whole pressed vegetable and fruit juices and thoughtfully crafted menu items. The “Chef-Prepared Eats” include menu choices such as a House-made Veggie Burger with Avocado Dill Sauce, a roasted vegetable Panini Sandwich and a Chipotle Sun-dried Tomato Walnut Collard Wrap. Some of the healthy ingredients in the cold-pressed juices and smoothies include beets, carrots, apples, blueberries, kale, lemon and turmeric. The trick is to make these drinks taste GOOD – otherwise none of us will stay with the program. How to make your diet meals look more appealing?🤔 We all know that when food is served on the table we first see the food with our eyes, the vision nerves then send signals to our brain which stimulate our taste buds and we get the feeling of being hungry. We then are more prone to taking bites of the well-presented healthy food in front of us. Visually attractive foods tend to appeal to our taste buds too. The feeling of happiness and satisfaction envelopes us on eating this well presented healthy dish.  Hence, the old saying is true that “We first eat with our eyes” Making our meals look more appealing doesn't necessarily mean making it less "Clean" Here's example of how I made my steam fish look more appetizing. I usually add ginger, parsley, tomatoes, mushrooms, black pepper and chilli padi to my steam fish to make it colorful! #lowcarb egg and spinach wrap/tortilla, filled with mozzarella cheese and mushrooms 🤤 For the wrap you will need: 🌿1 egg 🌿3 egg whites 🌿1 handful of spinach Blend all of the above On a non stick frying pan, pour the mixture and cook on both sides for about 3m each side. Be gentle when you flip the wrap☝🏾 . I fill it with 25g of light mozzarella and lots of mushrooms. I added 1/3 of avo to complete my breakfast 🙌🏽. . .
